In a world where you can get coffee anywhere, bagels here-n-there, and artisan menus far-and-few, Bruegger?s hits all 3 of those notes while delivery quality. On a wild 4-hour trip to Des Moines to try Zombie Burger, I made it a point to stop for an appetizer at a bagel/coffee place. My destination pointer landed on Bruegger?s and what a delicious stop it was after being cramped in a car for 4 hours. We rolled up on an empty belly which demanded coffee and bagels. We stroll in after taking some goofy photos outside and look over the menu. I knew I was going to get a black coffee, a bagel, and something else to tide me over. I can...

They still have the dining room closed per pandemic. That's cool they had outside seating. I had the Farmhouse and the Smokehouse breakfast bagels! Outstanding! Glad I can walk there!! ??

I used to have their herby turkey all the time but a lot of locations have closed. Stopped at this location today and I'm so happy I did. The herby turkey was just as good as I remember and the staff members were amazing! They were super friendly and polite!!!

this location before. Upon walking in there they were busy, which I understand because it's breakfast. But after waiting at the counter for 5 minutes to pick up two orders I am ignored and put last priority even though no one greeted me nor asked what they could help me with. Finally I say I am just there to pick up two orders (mind you they had been ready) and if they could hand them to me. An older lady rolled her eyes at me and rudely said she needed to look at my phone. Fine, that sometimes is asked. She sighs and THROWS both bags of food down onto the counter and just walks away. I was just trying to do my job and I'm sorry that was such a big inconvenience for her morning.

"The Coup de gras after I ran the Des Moines Marathon: I went down to see Dirt Burger in downtown Des Moines. What I got was the best veggie burger no, the best BURGER I ever had. Why? It was muddy and savory, saucy and full of different textures. It was a perfect mouth. Like a big Mac, only without the disappointing patty and bread in the middle. I know you'll say I forgot and taste like meat. No. I know for some people the ideal burger is a meat patty with fat that runs down your arm. I understand. I have preferred a veggie burger, and I think that is more interesting with many impractical tastes, and it's health food except that with so many whole food ingredients it is somehow. But it felt really exhausting for me, especially when I recommended it with their real potato frits and the tiger sauce the staff. And she was right. As they once said on my beloved show boss! with Lenny Henry, I never had a liquid as good as in my life. They had vegan shakes that looked absolutely amazing, but I had no one to share, and I knew that I would be in pain after I had everything in... I'm funny too, but I had a granola in the hotel room I was pretty excited about. Anyway, all this and gluten-free as I ordered it on the GF reel. The staff was also incredibly friendly. I'm seriously jealous that Iowa has this joint, but it's all for the best as I would win 5 lb a week if this place was on the street."
