"This is the best restaurant in the area. Location: amazing views of the mountains and the valley. Food: unpretentious quality generous meal. Menu changes every season. Grilled chateaubriand is first class. Appetizers are fresh and creative. Great cheese tray. All products are sourced locally and proudly! Service: friendly and attentive by the owner Victor. try the beers he is brewing in his brasserie de la mine! For the quality you get , the price is Swiss reasonable!"

Excellent, small drive from Villars but the drive more than worth! Delicious local wines and also special local beers

If you like steak I recommend the chateaubriand .. really tasty and served at your table .. some good local wines and an impressive cheese board .. a word of warning parking is limited!

Service hit and miss. Most of white wines we requested were not available. Mixed up orders of water, wine and food. Not a very friendly welcome. Overcharged us for one dish on the bill. Could just have been a bad day. Food was excellent however.

"We skied into here for the night. The atmosphere is great, newly renovated but they managed to keep the atmosphere of an old school chalet very much intact. Service is very attentive. The meal we had was excellent had sweet breads and morels, which was done perfectly. Would highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant to anyone. The location is also perfect as a starting point for a day or touring. I never leave reviews but this stay was so good I felt compelled to. Also best bread and butter I have ever had in Switzerland. It really gave the French a run for their money on that front."

"J'avais repéré ce restaurant il y a déjà pas mal de temps, quand j'avais réservé un appartement à Gryon pour les vacances de Février, et je me réjouissait d'y aller, mais les conditions sanitaires et le semi-confinement en ont malheureusement décidé autrement.Mais tout n'était pas perdu, ils proposent des plats à emporter, et c'était vraiment parfait ! Tout d'abord, l'accueil. Le patron était en train de finir de cuisiner les plats quand je suis arrivé, et j'ai pu discuter un moment avec lui et la patronne, et ils sont tous les deux d'une très grande gentillesse. Ensuite la générosité. La cuisine est authentique, on sent qu'elle est cuisiné avec amour. Nous avons pris 5 plats différents, et tout était excellent. Et les portions gargantuesques, il vaut mieux avoir le ventre vide. Même avec un ado à l'appétit d'ogre nous n'avons pas réussi à tout finir et avons eu des restes pour le lendemain.J'espère vraiment avoir l'occasion d'y revenir quand les restaurants seront ouverts de nouveau !"

"Virtuoso cuisine, very refined at a normal price. Quality service, smiling and caring. The layout of the place is nice. The grand view. Everything is elegant, from the choice of materials to the utensils. The exceptional dishes... And the original presentation. The menu is not long which is a good sign, the dishes were fresh and deliciously cared for. These people love their job, it's obvious. By far the best restaurant in the Vaudoise Alps."

"In this very cozy restaurant they have an extensive menu. We opted for a fondu in broth. We each received about 250 grams of deliciously tender marinated beef to cook ourselves. We will definitely come here again."

"Wow, Escale has just become my new favorite restaurant . We ended up here by chance and wanted to treat ourselves to something special on our wedding day, which was 100% successful!!! AND: everything is homemade An exhibition of flavors, everything was more than good, and I would have loved to try the entire menu. We will be back!! '"
