"The friendly hostess greeted, seated and served us water. After about 10 minutes, the server looked surprised to see she'd been sat. She was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant wasn't so busy for a Saturday night. The decor was a vintage steak house. Would've liked to see more steak cut varieties. We'd go back for the great prime rib, different and delicious horseradish sauce, fresh salad, yummy housemade ranch, and crispy and hot french fries. The house Cabernet Sauvignon was balanced and complimented the prime rib. We'd try something different after the baguette was soft and undercooked for the Charly's Dip. The flavor of the day mojito was inconsistent, the first drink was delicio...

Amazing service and food. They are super pet friendly and have entrees for dogs. They also have a beautiful patio upstairs and another bar with live music. Mushroom soup was delicious and so was the steak!!! Seth and Gwen are awesome!!! This place made my day!!!

I came here with a group of friends for dinner and drinks. We sat in the downstairs area, which was much larger compared to the upstairs seating space. The only thing is that you have to order everything at the bar in the downstairs space, but this was fine for us. The food was really good, and we had very quick and friendly service.

After walking downs long hill, we were hungry. Saw a Taco Place but they didn't have a real bar. So we came here to the Weatherford Hotel. First time ordering food but not the last. So good. I grew up in a Mexican restaurant, but I will come back here for the cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans any day. My other half had a Rueben which melted in my mouth after one taste. It's the butter on the bread. This is the place to try in Flagstaff. Their bartender, Sidney, needs to join Jon Taffer's staff. She is a lesson in bartending.

"Dining at Edson Hill is clearly meant to be an experience. They certainly charge you for it. At those prices, execution and flavor need to be spot on, and they just ... weren't. Pumpkin soup was so bland and thick, it was like eating flavorless applesauce. Scallops were very good, and cooked nicely, but thrown on top of a pile of spaghetti squash that, again, lacked any flavor. It was clearly squash season, but not a hint of spice or nutmeg. The duck was the highlight of the meal, and the only dish that was executed correctly. Our steak frites was so disappointing. The cut should have been saved for well done, it was not a quality piece of filet, which is the wrong steak for a frites anyways. The fries were perfect and plentiful, but when the fries outshine the steak on a frites plate, that's a problem. For $52 I expect a nice cut. Everything lacked salt and pepper. Dessert was fine, but the cheesecake didn't taste of pumpkin at all, and really didn't taste of cheesecake either, more of a slightly sour mousse cake. All in all, this was a lesson. Take your money to Montreal or the Eastern Townships. They do fine dining better, cheaper, and more casually so you don't have to play along with the stilted service only to be disappointed by the food. Edson Hill is meant for an over 50 crowd who is still more impressed by an obsequious maitre d'hotel than by properly seasoned food."
