This was my third time eating at CIYC. In previous visits, I enjoyed the spinach-strawberry salad with chicken and the burger. This time, there was a special Memorial Day menu consisting of brisket, pulled pork and sides. My date and I enjoyed it very much! The food and the service were great, and you can’t beat the views from the back porch!

I 've always wanted to go to City Island, a far-flung neighborhood of the Bronx that 's a schlep from most parts of the rest of the city, especially if you rely on public transport. But we had the opportunity to drive there, and decided to go to CIYC for dinner. The staff were wonderful and welcoming from the moment we called to make a reservation. One wasn 't needed, it turned out, but in booking it, we did secure a table with beautiful views of Pelham Bay, and the city on the horizon. The food was wonderful, and we 're happy we ordered the new Mac Cheese recipe the chef tried. We even learned a little about the local life from our server who was a proud clam digger .
