"I must admit, I looked rather foolish on arrival as I walked right past the entrance... I was in the mood to relax, so I splurged for the cappuccino. Flavor was robust. They only gave me one sugar cube, which ended up being perfect for my desired level of sweetness... The place is huge. I love the high ceiling... The Trout and Eggs looked magnificent. The potatoes were piping hot and delightful. The trout was reminiscent of a grilled salmon. Do not judge this dish based on the first egg-less bites. The contrast is staggering. The warmth and joy that I felt when I ate a morsel of fish, dripping with over-easy egg and completed with green, was overwhelming..."

excellent eating in a funky atmosphere we had four people and we all loved our eating. the waiter would be a little slow, but not bad and he always apologized. even one of the desserts. the atmosphere was funny with a casual chic art by vibe. would highly recommend.

Walked in with one other person on a Saturday at 4:30pm. The place was practically empty. The hostess said it wouldn't be a problem getting us in without a reservation. The hostess then left to ask her manager. The seat they gave us was right next to the hostess booth even though it was completely empty. Overall a disappointing experience. Overpriced and the service was lacking.

I was excited to check out the new brunch menu at Current Fish and Oyster. If you havenâ€t been paying attention, this new(er) restaurant and what Chef Logen Crew is doing here in Salt Lake City is pretty fantastic. If you havenâ€t been yet, brunch is a great way to check this place out on a smaller budget — and with some of the new dishes Logen has created, you wonâ€t be sorry.

"I speak as a tourist. I was delighted this place has dedicated, on-the-menu options – as it is apparently open late, it would seem to be worth keeping in mind for that reason. This, and the empanada's great value, lead me to give it three stars. That said, there were some oddities. I got the vegan arepa and the vegan empanada. They were both filled with *exactly the same ingredients* and the empanada was bigger than the arepa – but the arepa costs more than 2x as much. Given these circumstances, and the fact that I liked the empanada more, I can see the empanada being a great deal for a vegan looking late night or for a bit of variety. Both of them were on the bland side, however, and far from imaginative. I did enjoy the plantains in both; otherwise, it was mainly black beans and some avocado. (From the menu, it appears that their several vegan items seem mainly to be rearranging these same ingredients. The small amount of chimichurri I was given added some flavor and was ok, but did not knock my socks off. None of it was bad, and I do think they made at least the arepa fresh with decent ingredients, but there just wasn't much flavor. Finally, they use big styrofoam packaging for to-go, which is actually enough to mean I would avoid eating here again. (Not being a local, I don't know how common this is, but I know it's not even nominally recyclable in SLC and that not all places do it. Updated from previous review on 2021-09-05"
