"This seems like the go-to place if you’re in Stowe itself and need an easy veg option. We got three dishes, and 2.5 of them were great: 1) Vegan Veggie pizza: would recommend. Tastier than anticipated. 2) Lettuce Wraps: very tasty, though they fell apart when we tried to eat them. Turns into more of a salad if you have to eat them with a fork. Still would re-order them. 3) Hummus Platter: meh. The pesto flatbread in it was fantastic, but the hummus itself was too firm and not that flavorful. If I only ordered this appetizer and nothing else I’d have been fairly disappointed, but everything else was good enough to make up for it. Also, they go out of their way to be low-waste and use recycle...

Trully Napolitan. Excellent wood-fired oven pizza, Italian style. Family friendly restaurant, friendly stuff. Their margarita, cheese and mushroom pizzas were all amazing. We all wanted to go twice to the restaurant in the same week. Highly recommend.

Food was very, very average bordering on tolerable. The “fire roasted vegetables” was a pile of soggy steamed cauliflower and broccoli. The Buffalo cauliflower was also just a pile of steamed cauliflower that was not needed or dried and did not taste of buffalo sauce. Both of those were served with pesto? The “meatball pizza was actually fine except there was no sauce and no meat ball, just a vegan sausage crumble, onions, and crumbled vegan cheese. For a place that really pushes its vegan menu, I was expecting much better. Not a great start to the weekend of eating in Vermont.

"Dining at Edson Hill is clearly meant to be an experience. They certainly charge you for it. At those prices, execution and flavor need to be spot on, and they just ... weren't. Pumpkin soup was so bland and thick, it was like eating flavorless applesauce. Scallops were very good, and cooked nicely, but thrown on top of a pile of spaghetti squash that, again, lacked any flavor. It was clearly squash season, but not a hint of spice or nutmeg. The duck was the highlight of the meal, and the only dish that was executed correctly. Our steak frites was so disappointing. The cut should have been saved for well done, it was not a quality piece of filet, which is the wrong steak for a frites anyways. The fries were perfect and plentiful, but when the fries outshine the steak on a frites plate, that's a problem. For $52 I expect a nice cut. Everything lacked salt and pepper. Dessert was fine, but the cheesecake didn't taste of pumpkin at all, and really didn't taste of cheesecake either, more of a slightly sour mousse cake. All in all, this was a lesson. Take your money to Montreal or the Eastern Townships. They do fine dining better, cheaper, and more casually so you don't have to play along with the stilted service only to be disappointed by the food. Edson Hill is meant for an over 50 crowd who is still more impressed by an obsequious maitre d'hotel than by properly seasoned food."
