"Everything, from the scenery to the service, was absolutely amazing. The drive to the restaurant allowed you to catch breathtaking views of the mountains. Once you arrive at the restaurant, you are greeted and treated like family. Our server was Linda, and she outdid herself. She made sure you were cared for throughout your entire stay and provided such great service. The food was also amazing and very filling. Our table had ordered the veggie skillet and the steak tip hash, along with a cinnamon roll. Everything was absolutely scrumptious. It is businesses like these that make driving all the way from New York worth it."

Meatloaf melt (without cheese) best sandwich in New England. Grandma's has always been the best place to eat in the elite mountains. About a 3 hour drive from Southern MA but it was worth the trip and everything I'm on the area I always try to stop in for a bite.

I drove a little out of my way on my route home from a weekend of hiking in the white mountains to come here and it was well worth the extra drive!! Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff and the food was amazing. I don’t have a single criticism about this place. Quite possibly the best string fries I have EVER had

SEAFOOD Started with a bowl of Clam chowder, wished this recipe was available.. Ordered Jr Clam (whole belly) Basket Special Haddock dinner. The Clams were fried just right, keeping the breading crispy and not at all chewy with a generous portion. The breading on the Haddock was thin, crispy and fish cooked perfectly. Both so very tasty Everything was sooo good had to try their home made Apple pie. Need I say it? Was excellent! ALL HOME MADE Friendly staff and The owner welcomes and seats you A Hidden Gem

"This review is a contradiction to itself... The service was great and incredibly slow. Some of the food was excellent and some just barely mediocre. We had a reservation at 5:45 they told us they couldn 't seat us at 5:15 or 5:30 even though more than 1/2 of the dining room was empty when we got there. Sure sign that they are short on staff but it must be in the kitchen because there were definitely enough waitstaff around. And although there were waitstaff around we barely saw our very friendly waitress. The owner was around and was very nice and accommodating with the kids and offered to make anything they wanted. I had the prime rib which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and tender but it had no flavor at all. The sweet carrots were the star of the plate. My husband had the rib eye and said it was just OK but again no flavor. My daughter had the bacon burger but it was a hockey puck and all she ate was the mashed potato side. My son had grilled chicken and their famous fries (as the owner said) the fries were the pre battered kind and nothing fancy and the chicken was just that a slab of grilled chicken breast. The fried green beans were good and the pretzels were perfect although the cheese sauce with them had no flavor. We took desserts to go and I am not sure why they called it bread pudding but it was just a hunk of hard bread. We like to support local but not sure we will make an effort to come back here."
