"Very pretty room with lots of tables and good amount of seating at the bar, which is lovely stone lit from the underside. The place was pretty full and even though there were available tables, my friend I decided to sit at the bar, which was empty when we walked in. The bar stools are comfortable. Nick, our bartender, was friendly, intuitive, and very knowledgeable about the wines. I was happy with the two I tried and they did indeed go very well with the Mezze plate, which my friend I shared. All was delicious, and perfect for a light meal. Service was great, atmosphere was lovely, staff was friendly. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back."

Repeat experience, and it was just as great as the first! Smoked Trout Dip appetizer was out of this world. Liked it even better than the Crab Dip we had on our first visit, which was delicious as well. Lobster Roll is so fresh and wonderful! And we found out afterwards we can substitute the chips for other veggies they have. Pasta with cracked pepper (Cacio e Pepe) was amazing. Would love this with blackened shrimp! Great wine selections and tasty cocktails. Fabulous service and beautiful ambience. We’ll be back. Again.

Tried to go for lunch and had an awful experience. We made a reservation but they don’t seem to honor them for lunch- when I tried to check in, the server told me seating was first come, first served at lunch. You’re supposed to order at the coffee bar so I stood in line for 10 minutes (very slow service) only to find out that they had run out of nearly everything on the menu. We ended up leaving and going to Loqui down the hall. Overall lunch at Joliet needs to be rethought by management- either take reservations and plan accordingly, or don’t offer them at lunch so diners’ expectations are appropriately set.
