""la forchetta" (the fork) is the fifth Italian restaurant in breisach, which opened a little more than a year ago in the former Bavarian court. The owner is aref merza, who runs at an angle to the hoisthouse humpen.Because you can sit on the front side in the pedestrian zone in the open, no parking possibility would be close to it if there were not a courtyard on the back side, where you can park for free (travel via Richard-Müller-Straße!). a big plus! The restaurant interior is not typical Italian, but breathes the charm of the old Bavarian farm. the chef however and the friendly service are Italian. The menu has four antipasti: the prices vary between 4.90 € (bruschetta) and 11.90 € (carpa...

"I have been working in Breisach for some months now and have tried quite a few restaurants during that time. But every week I return to Humpen. It is a typical German rustic style bar, which is a style I very much like. The typical German dishes are on the menu but the owners have added some of their own ethnic flavours which make for some really tasty options. My strong recommendations are the Humpen Salat or the Grara Gavani. If you don't enjoy these, you are not of this world and you can ask me for your money back. I will of course refuse your request just that we are clear from a legal perspective. Apart from the food, there is the atmosphere. The manager and staff are very friendly, there's a good few regulars, very regular in fact and all in all it's become a home from home. The patrons have been know to shout out my name as I enter, Cheers popular Boston bar based sitcom) style. Ok that last statement is not quite true but I do get the occasional acknowledging nod which is nice too. If you want to see the latest bundesliga or champions league games, you're guaranteed they are on. The music selection is also very interesting and often good and will have you Shazamming the night away if you didn't live in Germany for any length of time and are unused to the strange musical tastes of Germans. I highly recommend this establishment and if you do venture in, don't forget to mention it was recommended by some Irish guy."
