"It's been a while since our last visit to La Fornace and we've made it a whim, an early Monday in January. Upon arrival we were delighted to be greeted by Gino the Pizzamann, who took over from the waitress and led us to our table. It's been a long time since we met Gino. He left La Fornace for some time, so his return as the chief pizza manufacturer was a nice surprise. He is very kind to like to chat when he can and does a pretty good, authentic Italian pizza. On this special evening I ordered the Parmesan cheese/rucola salad as an appetizer, followed by the pizza with hot, spicy Italian sausage, Gorgonzola cheese and spicy peppers. Delicious. My wife went for a huge tuna-based salad and...

La Fornace is only 300m from home, was here often. Generally a good, fresh bread, friendly staff (mostly), good taste of food, reasonable price. Come on!

The staff is not very friendly and attentive. It is not a warm and friendly atmosphere where you can immerse yourself and simply enjoy. Pizza is the best choice you choose from the menu the rest of dishes and also the salads are under my expectation. Size advantages? Here everything is usually at least XL the most time XXL, but since the quality is not to my satisfaction size, does not matter.

We have been guest at the restaurant for two times during the last week. What a gem in the beautiful area around Bergisch Gladbach. We came once for lunch and once for dinner. Simple pleasure, speedy and attentive service. Pizza with great base and menu with a broad variety from fish, pasta, pizza and other dishes. If you are around in the area skip the Herzogenhof and make your way up the hill to this place, it is worthwhile. In der vergangenen Woche waren wir zweimal hier. Einfach ein gutes Restaurant in der Gegend außerhalb von Bergisch Gladbach. Sowohl zumMittag als auch zum Abendessen hatten wir schnellen und aufmerksamen Service. Klasse. Bereits Menü mit Pizza, Pasta, Steak und gutem F...

"I'm a bit of a loss in the decision to evaluate my evening dinner experience here. let me explain. I arranged for a table to be reserved for my foreign guest and one day in advance. the next night I went unintentionally. in the birote side of this house and met an older man behind the bar. I explained who I was and that I had a reservation for two people. we both liked the idea of eating out on this warm summer evening and that's when the problem started. Apparently, our table reservation was in the main restaurant where there was a menu that could not be served outside (no reason for it) this man seemed pretty excited with me so that if we insisted on eating outside, we would be obliged to choose from the diocese red menu. I saw it and agreed. He seemed to think I was crazy. we have ordered our first drink when we drop off at our preferred external table, as we have checked the menu again. the question of my colleague (in English speaking) for a dry white wine was met with complete and helpless incomprehension and seemingly annoying by the same gentleman. then he ignored my companion and rolled me a list of house wines from which I could choose for my gast. he still seemed to be very irritated to point out that I was really close to and was leaving. I'd rather. fortunately, the dinge calmed down a little after that. my very sweet aperol splash at the impressive price of 8.50 euro came along with a 9,00 euro glass giant finesse. for beginners I had the fish soup that was unusual and tasty. my gast had fried garnels on a bed grilled watermelon with salat overlaid. apparently exotic. for the main course I had a black angus rumpsteak that I found quite hard (no chance to explain how I cooked it, but never mind) and my colleague had smoked salmon with salat. I took another kelle with the older man and asked very much for his advice about the best wein to go with the steak. he recommended a Spanish navarra wein seniorio de sarria. that was a good recommendation. we have decided not to pass on dessert or coffee, but to ask for the bill. that was wrong. I am really upset in the restaurants that make mistakes with the bill. but one of the more reasonable waitress quickly corrected the error. a little more than 100 euro for two, this is one of the most expensive meals I have ever had in the larger Leverkusen area. so back to my review eat at least one 4 but service a very ashamed 2. So I go for an average of 3 for the whole experience. but please, I don't think everyone would be as patient as I was here with the older man."
