"a cabaret evening in Wolfhagen with hagen rether stood up, with previous food, which is absolutely important for us four friends. The small North Hessian town of Wolfhagen offers nine days a high-quality cultural program with artists from the fields of music, cabaret and comedy, this year for example with bernd stablter, axel pyre, constant in wecker, ingo appelt and for us four hagen rether. we knew that many delicious things were offered around the so-called “culture tent”, but that would be a good idea if we had not been fed (you know it before?) and where did we want to eat? of course, as close as possible to the event, and so we chose the restaurant “Zum Schiffchen” on the same name Hotel in Wolfhagen. the phone reservation of a table went without problems. the nice lady wanted to keep us a table outside on the terrace if the weather allowed. We could sit outside, the sun still seemed when we got there at half six. the terrace with wooden seat looks good, but has a bite: it is located directly on the busy road, so much car noise. That didn't bother us so much, we wanted to sit outside. the chefin immediately supplied us with chairs and menus and asked us if we already wish drinks. We had mineral water for three ladies (0.3 l water for 1.60 € and for me a soft pilgrim (2.50 € and later a 0.3 column for 2.20 €). The drinks came quickly and well cooled and we could order now. the map, also on the internet, offers all common good-bourgeois dishes and some hessian specialties, such as e.g. Ahlewurst, press head and hessian ham. two of the ladies chose the toast for “Burgfrauen Art”, two pork medallions with pepper sauce, beaded onions, mushrooms, salad set and toast (9,90 €), a friend chose Rumpsteak from the grill with roasted onions, Pommes Frites and Salat (19,50 € and for me the black also filled the terrace during the pleasant waiting period. all four dishes came to the table, hot steaming! That was already good! and pretty dressed they were also! and then came a “free” rest, interrupted only by “lecker”, “slightly really good”, “very nicely dressed”. So my friends were very happy and I was also the biggest part. four battened large pig medallions were somewhat beyond the optimal clothing, light, but not too dry, the fresh mushrooms were well seasoned (I would like more of them.) The Hollandaise tasted, the lean spectacles were beautifully crippled and not too salty, but the slightly roasted Bratkartoffels could still carry some salt and puss. I was disappointed with the green beans that were still crispy, but after nothing tasted. they have come from the hot water directly on the plate and have missed a spectacle as decoration above. Too bad, too, because the boss didn't look at us during our meal and didn't ask if everything was okay. She didn't do that when she realized. on the other hand, without asking again, they brought everyone the right bill / receipt if we wanted to pay separately. On the way to the villages I also saw a view of the dining room with theke and the restaurant, in the right part of the entrance. the left guest room is dark with brown wooden panels on the walls, brewery seating, so you can imagine typical village pub. the restaurant (also breakfast room for the hotel guests significantly brighter, but also nothing special. the damentoilette very clean, but in the 60s/70s with scaled sinks and toilets and patterned flowing, well, I do not say how I find that. we could then enjoy the cabaret evening and did not need any further calorie intake in the break, except in liquid form. Conclusion: You will get real home cooking in attractive quality for reasonable excursions."
