"Let me say, we have really enjoyed this restaurant. For the most part, we have always had a great experience. We live closer to Columbia, but always choose to drive to Newberry, away from the city to enjoy a nice, quiet night out. Last night’s dining experience will be the last at Figaro for awhile. It was a $220 tab met with mediocre (borderline poor attentiveness by our awkward waitress. She delivered the charcuterie, no explanation for the cheeses. When I asked her what one specific cheese was, she said it was a hard one that will melt in your mouth. (Where was Chris????? I’m not sure what happened, but 30 minutes passed with zero check-in. Finally, I asked the person delivering the food to tables if he could tell her we needed our check. Wait. Wait. Wait. Still no check. I kid you not, I finally asked her as she’s walking by if we could pay. When I asked if she could box my meal to go, she brings the plastic container to my table for me to do. I’m sorry, but a $50 filet with one side should warrant YOU boxing this in the kitchen. When we leave, no one says a word. Are these life problems? No. We both work and very rarely go out, so when we do it is a special occasion. It may seem absolutely ridiculous that all of this bothered me, but based on all of our previous experiences this was a ONE-star evening. Did I mention that we were actually supposed to have reservations TWO nights ago, but whoever took our names down put us on the wrong night. We were super accommodating and kind about this- you could have at least comped a dessert for your mistake. Won’t be back… Too many great options closer to home."
