"The first time Sri Lanka's food. Another restaurant on my list of places known for kitchen that can be very spicy (it is not all that and does not have to be ordered so though. Would still be delicious mild or without heat) Super happy that I tried it here. The food was so delicious, filling and unbelievable. The appetizers are vegetable and potato dumplings and cured chicken and vegetable rolls. The bread escape is roti pol; this is a Sri Lanka flatbread with coconut. The fats and sugars from the coconut make the bread so soft and perfectly flavored to balance the curry. The curry with that was a lamb (they also had fish and chicken) curry. It was also served with lunu miris, which is a spicy (genuinely) onion chutney. The other duck is a Sri Lanka court called Kottu. This is the most popular Sri Lanka street food and is a stir roasted dish with chicken, vegetables, onion, chilli, shredded Godhamba roti (a thinner, softer bread than the pole roti) and is served with a curry sauce to pour it. I wanted to be spicy, but wanted to be careful so got hot instead of extra hot. Next time I would try extra hot to know that it will be absolute. The dessert is called Watallapam and is a Sri Lankan custard with cane sugar, coconut milk and eggs, which are then seasoned with nutmeg, cardamom and cloves. That was good. I am definitely looking forward to going back because the food was exactly everything I wanted, and the ducks and dessert were new to me what I love! The man who heard it with his family served and he was super helpful, nice, welcoming and proud of their food and kitchen, which is fun to experience. I loved his esteem when I said we were going 40 minutes to visit this kind of pride, really makes a meal special."
