"We came in from out of town and our relatives were proud to take us to this old line restaurant near Joliet. The same family has been serving great food for 60 years, if I remember correctly, still in the old house where it started (with many additions over the years). They are famous for their giant poorboys and high quality meats. The hostess and servers handled our large group (late 70's to baby) with courtesy and efficiency. You'll enjoy it."

Love this place, onion rings and those steak sandwiches with the garlic butterine are so good, don't see restaurants like this too much anymore, real good food.

Merichkas will always have a special place in my heart. I’ve dined here my entire life and they are always incredible. The poor boy and onion rings are my absolute favorite!

I understand the Po Boy sandwich has a special place in peoples hearts, but I can't believe Merichka's sells it for $10 without any sides included. Ten dollars for a McDonald's hamburger patty with cheese on mediocre garlic bread?! Now that's something I'd pay $3 for in a college town when looking for drunk food at 1am. At $10 I'd expect actual burger meat and all the traditional burger toppings plus a side of fries.
