"Best meal in Baton Rouge! We walked in and Von invited us back to the area he was sitting and totally welcomed us in and gave us extra special attention. We started with the crab cakes — Mmm Mmmm, then got the seafood platter with catfish, shrimp and oyster — the breading was light and tasted oh so good. We couldn't decide between the homemade cocktail sauce or tartar sauce as again both were excellent! The sides yams (made with local cane syrup) were like having a nutritious desert first and t … – show"

Vaughn’s food was fantastic and service was great, stopped in here for lunch but sadly didn’t get to try the crawfish since they’re out of season. Will have to come again when they’re back in.

"I have finally eaten at all of the fancy steak places I know of. Ruth’s, Sullivans, Buddys (Hammond , Flemings. Ruth’s was slightly more expensive than Flemings, but not by much. I ordered the ribeye at all of them for scientific research purposes. Food wise, Ruth’s has the best steaks, Flemings the best sides, and Buddy’s the best overall (it is by far the cheapest . The table bread was awesome. Steaks were cooked 100% perfectly, which is hard to get because medium means something different everywhere you go. I ordered the ribeye and my girl ordered the New York strip. The ribeye was better than the other three places ribeyes. My girl didn’t care for the New York strip, she said it was very salty. I didn’t notice, but the ribeye was definitely better. The salads were great. I ordered the chopped and my girl the Caesar. Both were great, and the chopped presentation was very unique. The sides were pretty disappointing. We ordered mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and broiled tomato. The tomato must have had sugar on it, it tasted like ketchup. The creamed spinach was bland, and the mashed potatoes tasted homemade (which is good for $3 side, but for a fancy steak place at $10 it needs to be otherworldly . Gave my girl a cheesecake since we were celebrating her birthday. Probably the best cheesecake we have had. Overall a fantastic experience. Our waitress Diamond was excellent and friendly. The water glasses did not get less than half full (or empty? . Bathrooms were immaculate."
