"This place was quite busy when we arrived, but we were able to spend the ~15 minute wait looking around at the gift shop and in the nice front garden area. The hostess let us know that reservations are recommended as they sometimes stop taking walk ins near closing. Once we were seated our waiter was very warm and attentive, and our food came out so quickly that I almost hadn't decided what drink to order yet. The food was great, but we definitely went overboard ordering the app trio and each getting a combo platter... I hope we have time om this trip to go back so that I can try some chocolate mousse!"

Unbelievable new Mexican cuisine. Historic location and building, with a unique atmosphere. Prices are reasonable, service excellent and always overcrowded. Reservations are highly recommended.

You can literally not go wrong with this restaurant. James Beard award-winning, fast service (because you get a table? Make reservations and sometimes run behind you to get your table), great prices, excellent margaritas. I had many things from their menu: Flautas, Chile relleno, aguacate relleno, burritos and all are very good. They also have a sweet gift shop in which they sell some of their dried peas red Chile.

This is a real tourist trap, I wanted to like it but meh. The positives were the jalapeño poppers and the combination picante was good value for the price. Negatives plastic table cover and plastic cutlery cheapens the ambience, give people proper silverware. I would avoid the trout with almond and stick to Mexican food. The trout had soggy skin and the flavor combinations wasn?t hitting any home runs for me. It wasn?t completely terrible but I would not return nor recommend a trip out of your way.

"My wife and I wanted a nice, relaxed place to sit outside and have a fun dinner. We were very disappointed with the service. It took our waiter about 10-15 minutes to get to the table (which feels like an eternity while waiting to order drinks). They took our drink order and quickly returned with a cocktail and water, but the beer we ordered was delayed by a few minutes. Not a big deal, but then the night went south. We haven't seen our server in a long time. We felt our starter was a bit delayed when foodrunners showed up with our starters. No app in sight. We let them know and eventually the server brought our app. But by this point we were already in the middle of the meal. The food tasted good. Nothing out of the ordinary, but not bad. I admit the nachos were delicious. The mac and cheese we ordered had breadcrumbs but that was missing. Fortunately, the server took care of it pretty quickly. We were never asked if we would like to have our drinks refilled. And after dinner we waited a long time for our check. It just seemed to take forever for everything. Neither of the problems on their own would have been a big deal, but together it made a somewhat uncomfortable experience. The waiter was nice and apologized. They also put together the starter for us which was lovely. Maybe it was a free night or maybe a new server but can't say I would recommend going on a Saturday night. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating area. It was a little tight, but the ambience was nice."
