"Generally, I like Sonny's BBQ. The food is good and the service is almost always excellent. That was the case when we visited this location in Starke, FL. We drove through the area and met Starke right before the lunch break. So we moved in and took a hearty lunch before we were back on the street. As it turned out, we were the first customers. I was in a number of restaurants that seemed unreadable for the first customers of the day. This was not the case here of the minute we went, we had perfect service and a great meal. Newly renovated. Very clean. Fast and friendly service. Your Bbq egg rolls were very good. I ordered her smoked turkey. Very good and not dry. Will definitely be back. My husband ordered the brisket of grilled cheese. He loved it. Enjoy Sonnys every time we leave.

Kudos to the waitress, the door, the tables and wait for the guest. I observed that this woman could not stop on Sunday when I visited her, was clearly busy) and still welcomed people with a smile. I didn't get her name, but hope she gets recognized. Rock on the server with the colorful sleeve tattoo! I will definitely return and ask for her

Pulled pork was great, the kid working the window was very sweet. He was obviously under supported because he was pretty much the only person I saw for the 45 minute take out experience doing everything for both take out windows while trying to bag all the orders. I understand staffing shortages, however I would try not to let my team struggle like that for that long. Maybe something to keep in mind when scheduling in the future.
