"We wandered into Steny's Tavern last night and I was going to get my usual wings but, last minute, decided to try the pan seared cod dinner with seasonal veggies. What I expected was a chunk of buttery, what we used to call poor man’s lobster and some wedges of cooked summer squash, zucchini and carrots. What I did not expect was this beauty. Perfectly cooked brussel sprout, flaky moist cod and a delicate and flavorful brown butter, wine and lemon sauce. The coleslaw was light and dilly. It may have been the best meal I’ve ever had at a bar and better than most fish dishes I’ve paid 3x as much for. I see you Steny’s."

I’ve frequented Steny’s many, many times living in Milwaukee. The food is ALWAYS fantastic, and there’s always a great crowd of people. This is definitely one of my top choices for bars during the beautiful Wisconsin summer.

I had the Mac n cheese with grilled Buffalo chicken. As I was a bit “put off” on the approach judging off the neighborhood… I was 110% humbled upon my entrance. To a bar that felt like home, a staff that didn’t make you feel unwarranted, and a VERY mixed crowd of blue collar and white collar customers.
