"Took my sister here for a family birthday celebration and it was phenomenal! I sent her a list of places with good omnivore and vegetarian options and she chose The Station. I 'm so glad she did! They are usually slow during non sport season, so I called and they were happy to reserve the big booth for us. We were met with a birthday balloon and a vegan cupcake for my sister when we arrived so special! The food was AMAZING, and so was our waitress, Adrienne. She was so attentive, remembered the birthday girl 's name, and ensured that I had more ice tea before I asked for it and beers for everyone else whenever they were ready. Did I mention they make their own ranch dressing?? And my side s...

Friendly neighborhood bar and grill. We've recently moved to the area. This was one of the first places we tried. The wait staff was super friendly. The food was good and reasonably priced. (The Western Burger was great) We'll definitely be back!

Simple sports bar, highly recommend the pretzel bites, the honey garlic wings, the cheese curds, and Sabrina as your waitress! She was very knowledgeable about the bar menu as well as the food menu, and very attentive, we are from out of town but have added this to the list of Des Moines restaurants to visit again!

We stopped by for lunch, partly based on previous reviews and for convenience. We ordered a reuben and a chicken cordon bleu sandwich. Also got fried cauliflower. All the food was delicious, which kind of surprised us for a “sports bar” restaurant. (There are tv’s everywhere so you wont be craning your neck to see all the action). We would go back again if in the area. Service was prompt and our waitress was friendly. Great casual place!

"The Coup de gras after I ran the Des Moines Marathon: I went down to see Dirt Burger in downtown Des Moines. What I got was the best veggie burger no, the best BURGER I ever had. Why? It was muddy and savory, saucy and full of different textures. It was a perfect mouth. Like a big Mac, only without the disappointing patty and bread in the middle. I know you'll say I forgot and taste like meat. No. I know for some people the ideal burger is a meat patty with fat that runs down your arm. I understand. I have preferred a veggie burger, and I think that is more interesting with many impractical tastes, and it's health food except that with so many whole food ingredients it is somehow. But it felt really exhausting for me, especially when I recommended it with their real potato frits and the tiger sauce the staff. And she was right. As they once said on my beloved show boss! with Lenny Henry, I never had a liquid as good as in my life. They had vegan shakes that looked absolutely amazing, but I had no one to share, and I knew that I would be in pain after I had everything in... I'm funny too, but I had a granola in the hotel room I was pretty excited about. Anyway, all this and gluten-free as I ordered it on the GF reel. The staff was also incredibly friendly. I'm seriously jealous that Iowa has this joint, but it's all for the best as I would win 5 lb a week if this place was on the street."
