"If it were possible, I would give this restaurant 10 out of 5 stars! This restaurant is really a jewel in Helen, GA and a MUST DO!! The service was wonderful, our waiter Elliot gave us wonderful recommendations and made sure we had a great experience. Really everyone in this facility was fantastic. And don't even let me go to dinner! You can say there is a lot of time and effort placed in every dish. Everything we had was absolutely delicious! The owner/master chef of the restaurant was very friendly and enthusiastic about what he does. Also the music was so funny and lighthearted. Very nice server. external and internal seat. Many tables outside, covered. Eating was pretty good for this city. Sweet sausage. Beef w/ horseradish sauce was great. Friends were great. Great beer!

Good food. Pretzel served with cold beer cheese, but was good. Had the German sampler for two, which was fair. Nothing to rave, but it was good. We didn't eat the two plates of beef, but the carvings and smoked pig carvings were above the rest. Service was fast and great, especially for a busy Saturday night.

This is a real thing, small town, family property, authentic German restaurant with one of the best French onion soups I've ever tasted! We came with a party of 15 without announcement and the owner opened the second dining room for us instead of letting us wait. She took our drink job and turned on music. We have been supported by several other employees in addition to our server. The food was delicious! After the meal, the owner gave all the children in our party a little surprise and insisted that some of us have adults after the food toast. This was the best hospitality experience I had in many years. You make yourself a service when you visit Helen and don't eat here.

"Eating at 1:30P.M. on Thursday after Christmas we found the place to be 60% full. I would recommend a reservation as we did. I ordered the rainbow trout and my wife the shrimp/grit plate. The food was excellent and more so as we shared each others meal. The waitress was most helpful, cheerful, and my lower mark on service was not directed at her. We found the service to be slow, in our case a 30 minute wait and I noted the same for those around us. We also found it hard for them to justify just 4 medium sized shrimp on a $14 plate. Overall it was all good and we would recommend to friends. Note that close by parking is limited with a lot of parking farther back up the hill. They do have handicap parking by the restaurant. "As the other reviewers explained, the restaurant is small and is run by a man and a woman and is therefore rather slow in service. Waiting will be rewarded. The goulash was delicious and the roasted cheese appetizer. My daughter said that her bratwurst was as good as she had on a trip to Germany."

"This was our second time visiting this restaurant and we were once again impressed by the amazing service. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and being able to bring our dog onto the patio. The food was absolutely delicious. The only thing that would make it even better is if there were more options for kids. Overall, we loved our experience and will definitely be coming back."

"Great deal! One of the best things in Helen when you ask me you have everything well, including many unique items. Some articles are also very affordable. Some are expensive. They have a beehive in the honey area (behind Plexiglas). Remember, you can't buy alcohol until 12:30 in GA. So if you are planning a German beer on the way from Helen (as we were), just remember that you can't do it in the morning "
