"I remember going to Sports Fans all the way back in high school (pretty much 20 years ago, gosh I'm old now). This is yet another long standing Bettendorf institution I hadn't been back to visit since moving back to the area about two years ago. After spending some time in the Village of East Davenport, I was still hungry and very awake, so I decided to stop by on the way home. Oh my god...this was not the time to stop by Sports Fans. I don't think I'd seen this place as full as this any other time I'd visit. Literally every table was full and there were no seats at the bar. And the place was LOUD. Fortunately, two people got up from the bar and I was able to get a seat within 5 minutes of entering. There's not much to say about the decor or furniture of the space. It is filled with televisions all throughout the dining area, all playing sports of some type. I was mostly looking at stuff on my phone and occasionally looking up at the TVs and I swear one of them changed games four times. I swear, it started with hockey, turned to basketball, then to wrestling...I wasn't here for more than an hour, either... At any rate, I opted to get a single sized pizza (about 9 in diameter) with pepperoni and sausage. Even though Sports Fans was busy, I still got my pizza in 30 minutes and the bartender refilled my soda multiple times as it got low. I had either forgotten or didn't realize that the pizza here is made to Quad Cities style. You know, the crust with the malty flavor, cut in strips, with sauce that's got red pepper flake and cayenne pepper, and crumbly, greasy sausage? Yeah, that pizza...I'm not normally a fan, but this Quad Cities pizza I enjoyed. I would still not get sausage on one of these pizzas in the future. WAAAAY too much grease soggies up the crust something fierce. I'd come back to Sports Fans, just not during peak hours. It was a bit loud for me. I enjoyed the space and the pizza I had on my last trip. Thanks Sports Fans!"

Full • Sushi • Casual • Asiatic

"It has been some time since I've been out for Japanese food of any type in the Quad Cities. A few weeks ago, I had a really good bowl of ramen at a small restaurant near Warrenville/Naperville while on a work trip to my company's headquarters outside Chicago. I felt the craving for these flavors again tonight and resolved to satiate myself, eventually deciding to visit Red Ginger on Middle Road in Bettendorf. I used to come here semi frequently with classmates when I attended Scott Community College. It appears that, since last visiting a decade ago, not much has really changed. That's not a bad thing by any means there's plenty of seating, a TV above the bar playing sports, the sushi bar visible from the main dining area, and the same wall art and Asian accoutrements that was present before. It's a clean, nice looking space that's appropriately themed to their cuisine. With most of the tables in the dining area filled, I opted to sit at the bar for my meal. The bartender was super nice and quickly took both my drink and food orders. On this visit, I opted for a series of small appetizers, which included the edamame, gyoza, seaweed salad, vegetable tempura, and shrimp tempura. I'm glad they didn't bring all of those out at once it was probably a bit much for just me! Even with this overabundance, everything was fantastic! The edamame were that perfect combination of clean and salty, the gyoza were crunchy and filling all at once, the seaweed salad had its characteristic sesame flavor and smooth texture, and all of the tempura was fantastic with the dipping sauce supplied. I really liked the variety of vegetables with the tempura, which included summer and winter squash, broccoli, and sweet potato. I need to remember to come here for something similar when the craving for Japanese food strikes. This place remains a fantastic place in Bettendorf for all sorts of east Asian fare. Thanks Red Ginger!"

"Okay, here goes. The other day for lunch my husband and I went to Wendy 's and got some sammies and drinks. Fantastic service! There were a bunch of cumtomer service oriented adults working. Food was exactly as expected. Great experience! The problem is that I had tried a drink that I wanted to get again and I was near there a couple nights later. I went to go inside and the door was locked and the lobby was closed understandable in this day and age and I view that as no problem at all. So, I get into the drive thru line as I had about 25 minutes before my meeting. I wait to order no problem. I ordered the frosty ccino to take to my meeting. I pull forward and wait for a long time for all the cars in front of me to get their order and it 's finally my turn at the window. The young man opens the window and says so we actually don 't have your frosty ccino. There were 3 other employees standing behind him just standing there. I said oh, okay, wish someone would have told me sooner I just sat waiting for a long time well, would you like something else? He said no . I went there specifically for that and at any point someone could have stepped out to my car to inform me that they were out and I could have gone to get a coffee somewhere else! Instead, I didn 't have time and had to get to my meeting. No coffee. I felt like the night crew could not be further at the other end of the spectrum from the day crew when it came to customer service. My entire 25 minutes was spent waiting for nothing and the less than 2 minute away drive to my meeting. Bummer."
