"This Rubios is located in a great spot. It has really good outdoor dining space. Inside there are plenty of seating. I ordered ahead on the Rubios App. I made 3 separate orders to maximize my coupons on the app. The only real problem I had was customizing the orders. I got really confused with this. I've ordered take out from many places before but this one is the hardest to customize. The restaurant called me while I was on my way to make sure I had placed all 3 orders. When I came inside the place was busy at 5pm. They had my order on a shelf and ready to go. The guy at the register was super nice and friendly. He remembered that he called me and my name. He was superb! I got my salad and realized I requested the lettuce to be left out. I mean that app is so bad. I owned up to my error but he gave me the lettuce, mango salsa and avocado that I accidentally requested to be removed. The staff were all great. The mango salmon salad was good. I love rubios salsa bar. They have a great variety of spice!"

"Being that I am originally from San Diego and went to SDSU, I am very fond of Rubio?s. Of course the menu has expanded and the food has changed a little since then as the company grew and started franchising, but overall the food is still very good. My favorite has always been the fish taco especial which is what I typically order. Having eaten at several locations across the Phoenix area since moving here 6 years ago, this is my favorite location. They provide decent portions, the food is cooked properly and the service is good. I have had some bad experiences at other locations such as smaller portions, overcooked (burnt) fried fish and a number of other issues. Luckily this one is nearest to where I live and will be the one I continue to visit and highly recommend. Also they appear to have regular daily lunch specials that other locations do not always offer!!"

I had recommended a chicken taco by layer manager ryan, which was great. her classic fish taco was as usual delicious and the star was the atlantic salmon burrito, which was the best I ever had of this type. their salsas are also amazing! service by ryan was excellent. top 5 rubio’s."

"I love the food! It was so fresh and healthy for a restaurant with many options for those with food sensitivity. But even more amazing was the sweet helpful and super friendly and thoughtful young woman who works behind the register. I never had such a wonderful caregiver help me order! She was patient and understood my daughters food sensitivities. It's like she put herself in my shoes! I wish I remember her name because she deserves an increase! "Definitely one of the better chains around. I preferred the simpler menu they offered in the past. Without a doubt, they have the best fish taco in San Diego—fresh quality fish in a soft taco. The rest of the menu is decent, but that's not why I visit. The service is always friendly and quick, and the restaurant is clean. I really enjoyed the large fish tank; I'm not sure why they removed it, though I imagine it was a maintenance hassle."

"First time Going there. I went in at 11am, the team was at the front and instantly greeted me and welcomed me, I was hung over and just wanted some food. The manager Alyssa(? Helped me out. "I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. My bowl was not filled to the line and the shrimp were much smaller than usual. I paid nearly the same amount as I would for a plate at Cheesecake Factory, but received a plate with hardly any food. One of the shrimp was burned and there were only five pieces of shrimp smaller than a nickel. In addition, I only found three small shreds of lettuce. Overall, I was very disappointed with the portion size and quality of the food."

"We went to lunch yesterday 7/17 and we both got the fish taco plates with beans. I got rice with it. The beans were the consistency of soup. I took one bite and it was somehow gritty too. The rice had no flavor. I had to add salsa to make it taste like something. The fish tacos were good at least. The table we sat at was super sticky. We checked the other empty tables and they were sticky too. I got Rubio's from Doordash last month and the rice was so underdone it was crunchy. Against my better judgement I gave this place another chance. I am from San Diego and this is not the Rubio's I grew up with. The prices have gone up and the quality went down. I spent $28 for 2 meals. I may as well have went next door to Texas roadhouse and gotten better food. This is the last time Rubio's will be getting my business."
