"Definitely one of the better chains around. I preferred the simpler menu they offered in the past. Without a doubt, they have the best fish taco in San Diego—fresh quality fish in a soft taco. The rest of the menu is decent, but that's not why I visit. The service is always friendly and quick, and the restaurant is clean. I really enjoyed the large fish tank; I'm not sure why they removed it, though I imagine it was a maintenance hassle."

I like Rubio's food but the service (I've been ignored, my order messed, dirty tables) at this one has been lack luster to many times to get a 5 star rating

Food good, restaurant clean, service friendly, but the wait for food was a little longer than I expected. It took about 15 minutes for a California rice bowl (at 12:30pm on a Tuesday), and other customers seemed to be experiencing about the same wait for their orders. It could be that the kitchen was slower than usual this day, but maybe something to consider if looking for a place to grab lunch when you're in a hurry.
