"I almost didn't go to Takara because of the negative reviews, but I'm so glad I ignored them and had a chance. I don't know what these negative critics were talking about. The food was EXCELLENT!! Hibachi is so much fun! The portions were huge and we all received even portions as you can see in my photos (1 of them was taken after I had taken several bites of steak and vegetables). Everything was beautifully aromatized and nothing needed additional seasoning. We ordered Sushi appetizers, a cocktail and hibachi entrées. We asked for water and were offered a selection of taps or bottles. Kosher food is more and more expensive, but this is expected. The prices were on par with other kosher hibachi and you pay the same or more for kosher steak everywhere. The Maschgiyachs even placed the meat on the Hibachi Grills themselves! Usually in restaurants you never see the Maschgiyach, so it is nice to know that they are actively involved in ensuring that your meal is properly treated. Since hibachi is so much fun for children, I want to see that they add a children's menu. We had to order my child an adult meal, but remnants will be enjoyed tomorrow! We moved to NJ from NY about 2 years ago, so we have very high standards when it comes to restaurants and food, and Takara is not disappointed!"
