"I like the physical establishment of the restaurant and the bar. Very comfortable and attractive. It is somewhat incompatible with the delivery. Tonight with two friends, both of whom are in hospitality, and their wine was excellent and my drinks were not. I ordered two different versions of an old fashioned and both were to middling at $18 each. Ends up just order a shot of good bourbon. My friends had full dinners containing a hamburger and French fries, both of which received lukewarm reviews, although we were better in the past in this restaurant. The service is typically good (in season can be immaculate), the atmosphere is excellent, and the food is generally acceptable. In the season they usually have live music and it is a very pleasant place to be."

"Nicole was very helpful with food and drink selection. She was prompt and so polite. She was very well versed in the menu and had many suggestions to try. The sushi was outstanding. "Our server was friendly, efficient, and helpful. My son’s burger was delicious, as was my wife’s shrimp. However the unseasoned and tiny piece of red snapper was disappointing and overpriced. It tasted fresh, as advertised, but frankly it was dwarfed by the plate. It might have been a four ounce filet, but I doubt it. The guy who plopped it on the table said they’d run out of small plates. If I wanted a tapas sized portion, I’d gone to Chill in St. Pete Beach. The side of garlic mash only reinforced the blandness of the entree. The fish got two stars for its freshness alone."

"We loved our fresh raw oysters. Also loved the Small Plates of Orange Chicken and Szechuan Noodles—they were an excellent combination to share. The Fried Fish Curry was delicious. The Asian inflections here are always interesting and tasty. Recommend exploring the extensive Classic Cocktails Menu—lots of tempting choices for a change of pace. We love the ambiance and decor here. It does get noisy, but the liveliness is understandable. The staff are good people, but service is often rather slow, so more staff could be a plus."

"Celebrating the birthdays of my wife and dear friend and unfortunately turned out to be unsatisfactory experience for one of the birthday girls. Her entree came out under and was sent back while the rest of us finished our entrees. When the refire came back to the table it was not just under, it was raw. On top of that, as we waited for the entree to come out for a second time, we were informed that they were out of the desert that was ordered at the beginning of the evening. From there it just got comical. She ordered the same desert the other three of us did and when it came out to the table the portion was less than half what the other three of us received. As other diners had festive sparkler celebrations at their tables our birthday girls received no such treatment. The meals were good but not what was expected based on previous visits. Don’t plan on returning anytime soon"

"bears this has been one of our favorite spots for years. we went a few weeks ago and we noticed a big drop in the food and service. one of our party had the trout and garnel and it was a terrible pairing. when the burger of my sohne came with the tomate, that he had asked not to be there; the waitress said I guess the cook is sad to praise his job. they continued to tell us the concerns and reasons for closing, which is why we did not go there. wein was 30% discount, which was a bonus. we returned last night when we thought that the night there might be something special. there were several items not available, service was worse and only wein over $150 was on sale. I know that the personal would have been emotional, but if they calculate the same amount, then the service and the meal should meet the same standards. the closure should be held for another month. there were people who had gift cards of christmas who could not get a reservation to use them as there were several private functions in the last week. we will miss the bears of the past."

"my partner and I have made reservations for an early dinner at the bach. there are not so many vegan options, but all we have ordered was fresh and made with seasonal fruit and vegetables. for a starter we had the novo lettuce wraps with tofu. I liked how it was served like a self-built packaging. the tofu was light, crispy and well seasoned, and there were three different sauces to immerse the package. we ordered the chow novo and the vegan version of thai red curry. the chow novo was not amusing, but the red curry was the best curry I ever had. it had exactly the right amount of seasoned and cocos milk with sweet and tangy anaslese to compensate all the aromes. but the most memorable part of our dinner was the chocolate caronut. not lying. the combination of chocolate and fresh fruit was a life-changing experience for me! although novo is on the pricy side, the whole evening meal was worth every penny. updated by previous review on 2021-07-10"

"Was told this was the best steakhouse in Alton Illinois. So we gave it a shot. Children got a kids cheese pizza, and for $6 each the quantity and quality was pretty good, 5/5. Wife and grandmother got the shrimp scampi, both said it was kinda bland, but it is just a garlic butter sauce so I can see that. Shrimp was kinda light for the shrimp to pasta ratio, but enough pasta for two that was for sure, 4/5. I had the 6oz pepper loin with loaded baked tater. Potato was great in size, pepper loin might of been a light 6oz but plenty in flavor. Ordered a med got med well. Now the reason for the only 4stars. Noticed on ticket, we were up charged for things that were supposed to be included like strawberry vinaigrette, $4upcharge but was supposed to be included. And a 2.75% credit card fee. Kinda odd. I run my own business and don’t have to charge cc fees to cover just odd. Especially with no notice. Atmosphere is nice, but after 6pm seems to get rather loud, couldn’t hear the person two seats to my left without them yelling. Overall, wed give it another go, just withdraw cash first."

Order came out at around the same length of time as other steak houses I've been to. The steak came out medium as I ordered. With a nice crust on the outside. Like a good steak house, no need for steak sauce. The juices from the steak was the only sauce needed. The bread came in handy to sop it up. Potatoes were warm and soft. Along with a nice crisp on the cheese. I'll be returning next time I'm in town."

"This is a beautiful space and has the best looking bar in Indianapolis. It is, pardon the expression, chic and trendy. Lots of rich woodwork and a circular bar. The entire staff is cheerful and accommodating. We had early (4:30) reservations, so there were not many patrons, however, by the time we left, it was full of people. I had the Tomato and Mozzarella Salad. It was huge, with terrific tasting tomatoes. The best! My wife had the Cod, prepared unblackened and with no garlic, and the Fried Green Tomatoes. Both rated a 10! We ended with a delicious scoop of salted caramel ice cream. mmmmmmmmm! But for the pricey aspect, I would rate it a 5. so I gave it a 4."

"Ruths is one of my Favorites. The 11oz filet is what I get every time. This experience was shockingly bad. Not to mention the “regional manager” was also there. Sitting at the bar eating then wandering around watching TV. The bartender said they were understaffed and people had called out. He was the only bartender so I don’t fully fault him for the bad service. He was very apologetic and nice. Took me about 15 minutes to get a menu, a water and a dirty goose (that tasted awful too much olive juice). About out 25 mins longer for my chop salad to come out the fried onions tasted burnt and the dressing seemed off also. Then my steak finally came. Looked like 3 small filets mushed together, had a ton of fat lines, was tough to cut chewy. After 1 bite I alerted the bartender and the manager had them make me a new one which was delicious. Also the manager mentioned that he “made sure it was a center cut.” I didn’t see how busy the dining room was but clearly the bartender was too busy to take care of the bar from what I noticed in my 2 1/2 hours sitting there. I’d be happy to discuss it all in further detail. Oh also my check book was covered in dust took a sip of my wine, tasted like dirt looked at the glass COVERED in dust. I wish I had taken more photos. Place was a HOT MESS the managers didn’t seem to be worried nor care. Not taking their jackets off and helping out the bar just wandering around doing NOTHING!!!!!!!!"
