"I drove through this restaurant for years, which means coming over and recently my wife and I did and I am very happy. This is really traditional Mexican food that I came to love when I moved to California almost 40 years ago, which was usual before, but now is hard to find. It has all my favorites, but I liked the shrimps especially. Prices are also very reasonable. This place is excellent. Among the best Mexican dishes in the area. A great menu and very friendly staff. Micheladas were very tasty.

There are so many Mexican restaurants in Costa Mesa, but this place is in my Top 5. The salsa and guacamole are always fresh! I come here for the moles that are the perfect sauce to go to chicken. Spacious portions and great service.

Avila is extremely busy on a Friday night, but we only had to wait about 5 to 8 minutes until we had three parties. Our food was delicious. I had Chicken Mole Enchiladas, which I enjoyed enormously. My brother had the Carnitas and he said it was tender and tasteful. His wife ordered a burrito, but maybe because of a confusion she ended up with the appetizer sampler what she said was still great.
