"We ate a light meal at Fresh Chef last night I haven?t had scallops in probably 25 years. I am pretty particular about my seafood, trying to incorporate more of it into our diet. Their special last night grilled seasoned scallops was perfect! The flavor, the texture even the smell. They did a fantastic job, the scallops were so fresh I will definitely be getting them again.? In addition to that we had a lettuce wrapped cheeseburger, side of mushrooms and grilled cold shrimp entree over kale salad.?? Everything was so good! We really enjoy their kale salad, it has red pepper flakes in it very slight hint of heat but it?s not overpowering by any means. We love lemon as well the dressing is fantastic. We love medium rare or rare meat and this hamburger was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked you could tell it was fresh by smell and taste and definitely not overworked, very tender. We enjoyed the mushrooms and onions as well, I want to say perhaps cooked in a burgundy or sherry? It was sweet and savory. We?ve really never had a bad meal here, but I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be ordering the scallops again. Such a sweet buttery creamy flavor and texture very light seasoning but enough to complement and support the scallop not overpower it. I forgot to mention that the scallops were over a very small bed of grits, which were extremely good!? As far as service? Emily has waited on us before, she is so sweet and professional. The food came out very quickly we were there at dinner time on a Saturday. Plenty of space between tables and booths.? I?ve had their salmon before and I do recommend it, but the scallops? I might be open to trying them somewhere else if anyone on this forum recommends a restaurant but they are on my list now for Fresh Chef for sure! For example I?m sure whatever Rita produces would be phenomenal ? however this was close to home, a last minute stop for dinner and well worth it.?"
