"I absolutely loved Café Bernard growing up when it was still owned by Bernard and I still love it now. I was a little worried at first the new management would make changes, and they have, but I think it has all been for the better. The spirit and character of the restaurant have remained (even their no cell phone use policy). I would particularly recommend any of the baked goods and pastries. They are all spectacular. I also really enjoy the smoke trout hash and the steak and eggs. For those complaining about the speed of the service, I would like to remind them that this is a tiny family owned restaurant and often only has one waitress and one chef on staff. What a disappointment! We came upon this place walking in Basalt. I wish I checked the reviews before going in. It took 10 minutes to get the menu and almost an hour to get our food. I had to send back my food because the salmon was still pretty raw, so more waiting. Don’t waste your time here. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
