"my sister and I found a postcard of cafe winuwuk when our parents visited bad harzburg. we traveled from london to see the places they were. seeing it there and whispering was lovely. it is a beautiful place and...we had coffee, tee, delicious toast with cheese, cake and wine to celebrate our special time there. we hoped that our parents will look at us in the approval. we have tried to explain to the personal why we have come, but we do not speak unfortunately German. a beautiful souvenir shop. very happy time."

We have visited this quirky cafe/restaurant on a couple of occassions. Well worth a visit if you find yourself in the Harz Area.

This cafe is a must see, if you visit Bad Harzburg. The architekture is very special and they have great cakes too. In connection with the cafe is a shop with art and other beutyfull stuff.

We visited the cafe on a sunny day of August. However it was very enjoying and like Spring for somebody who travelled here from Greece a few days ago having degrees Celcius. Taste the handmade sweets with your coffee and do not skip to...visit the Sonnenhof, where possibly you can buy a souvenir (or gift)

"My wife and I tried to get in on a Sunday evening, early, but not a chance. The brush-off was kind of brusk, which is why I am only giving stars. But there is a reason why you need a reservation, the food and...service are really good. This time we made reservations for early on a Saturday evening. And, yes, they turned away a lot of people without reservations. We went to the restaurant hungry and could not possibly finish all the food presented. Just full disclosure. German portions than Greek. We started with tzatziki, just since we had not had fresh fzatziki in a long time, and it did not disappoint. I may never be able to eat pre-made fzatziki again. The bread was really good too, hot and fresh. My wife ordered a broccoli appetizer, which was good, but it is hard to screw up broccoli. I ordered the cream of tomato soup, which was amazing, although the promised cream was not present. I could have stopped at this point. My wife ordered three small pork steaks'. They were not small. Not sure what the sides were, she ate them before I had a chance to sample. The chops were not as tender as we have had, but good nonetheless. I ordered the Helena-teller, Giros, ein Suflaki und ein Suzukiyros, I really had no idea what I was ordering, but everything was excellent. Came with tomato rice and fries, both very good. I wish I could have eaten more, but we took the rest home, so there is always tomorrow. Service was prompt and efficient, perhaps a bit understaffed. To my understanding, there are/were only two other Greek restaurants in town, and one has closed or is undergoing renovations, so this is an excellent choice. (We had a good experience at Ambrosia as well, but Platon is not currently in business The quantity of food for the price is a great value. Highly recommended. As long as you call ahead for a reservation!"
