"I generally like Copper Bowl. The food is usually good, if inconsistent both as to spice level and overall quality--the last time I successfully dined there I ordered a delicious spicy dish I had loved the previous time (less than a week earlier) but the second time it was so bland and there was something so off putting in the flavor that I couldn't even choke it down. My most recent attempt to visit was booked through OpenTable earlier that day but they were inexplicably closed with no explanation. I will keep trying on occasion but this is definitely not my go-to Indian in town."

My son and I had a great time at the Copper-Bowl! It was the best Indian food around town. Prices and portions were great!

We were visiting relatives, and the restaurant was down the street from our hotel. We love indian food and our options at home are very limited. This was a pleasant surprise. Quiet, good service, great food. The peshwari naan was excellent as was the shrimp appetizer. If you like it hot, go for medium (they spice on the hotter side so we were glad we went for the moderate! The only disappointment was that the Dosis were not available as they ran out of the chickpea dough. Otherwise, don't hesitate to give it a try.

The food there is very good. Had the Coconut Korma Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala which were well done. Naan was good but left a little to be desired. The only downsides were the service and the fact that it was cold inside. Either they didn't expect to have more than 4 tables that night or someone called out because it was very slow and the staff seemed put out to wait on anyone. I would go there again for a second try because the food was good at a good price but if I get the same service again I will change my mind on recommending Copper Bowl.

"I speak as a tourist. I was delighted this place has dedicated, on-the-menu options – as it is apparently open late, it would seem to be worth keeping in mind for that reason. This, and the empanada's great value, lead me to give it three stars. That said, there were some oddities. I got the vegan arepa and the vegan empanada. They were both filled with *exactly the same ingredients* and the empanada was bigger than the arepa – but the arepa costs more than 2x as much. Given these circumstances, and the fact that I liked the empanada more, I can see the empanada being a great deal for a vegan looking late night or for a bit of variety. Both of them were on the bland side, however, and far from imaginative. I did enjoy the plantains in both; otherwise, it was mainly black beans and some avocado. (From the menu, it appears that their several vegan items seem mainly to be rearranging these same ingredients. The small amount of chimichurri I was given added some flavor and was ok, but did not knock my socks off. None of it was bad, and I do think they made at least the arepa fresh with decent ingredients, but there just wasn't much flavor. Finally, they use big styrofoam packaging for to-go, which is actually enough to mean I would avoid eating here again. (Not being a local, I don't know how common this is, but I know it's not even nominally recyclable in SLC and that not all places do it. Updated from previous review on 2021-09-05"
