"This is the type of restaurant that gives you two important things when you are looking for a culinary experience: atmosphere and good food. Cowfish at a marina at Shinnecock Bay, the view is spectacular. Clean white boats line the port and if you are lucky to be there in beautiful weather, the scene is positive old Long Island. If the landscape is what draws you to Cowfish, it is the food that will let you come back. For starters, we grilled Brussel shoots with a mustard sauce that was incredibly delicious. I just could have ruined the sauce over a piece of bread and be happy. We also had guacamole with chips that were full of avocado pieces and served with corn tortilla chips and lime. The salmon I had was tasteful, grilled on the outside of the tender and fluffy meat. It is served over a bed of Basmati rice, grilled asparagus with a creamy Pimento sauce. It was excellent. My husband had the reuben sandwich filled with good earthly pastrami and slender dicks. A hard to please man gets used to fried Southern cooking, he kept the sandwich excellent. Another order at the table was a grilled fish sandwich that was smokey and tender as the salmon. Another wonderful dish. For Dessert we all tried the banana pudding cakes. It was a pleasure not to do justice. It was just amazing. What a great lunch we had. Connected to Palmer Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, it is a certainty that we will be back again and again."
