"I discovered Freebirds in the early '90 's, years before they came to Austin, and I was hooked. I 'm pretty sure they 're the only reason I survived college. When they finally opened up in Austin, I was over the moon, and the Hancock restaurant became my favorite. But then they did away with the taxes-included-in-prices bit (thanks, Oklahoma). And they stopped with the punch-cards that could net you a free t-shirt. We went here last night because we were bored and didn't have anything in the house to eat. We were also lazy and didn't want to make anything. My husband had a coupon that he could use where he got a buy one get one free deal. To be honest, I am normally a chipotle kind of girl, however, I was surprised to see all the options that Freebirds had. I really liked the vegan chorizo and I like that Freebirds had a large variety of sauces to choose from. Other places like chipotle do not have as much of a variety when it comes to sauces.
