My recent review of Ladd's in one particular area was probably too harsh. The prime rib was not tough, but rather less tender than other prime rib I have enjoyed. I will be sure to update my ranking after I revisit Ladd's for another meal.

If you haven 't been to Ladds Restaurant in Rutland recently you owe them another look. This place was crowded! Most of the empty booths and tables were reserved but Adam our host was able to accommodate us by moving a few tables around. It took him a few minutes but we ended up in a nice table for two in a delightful spot. Tiffany our server was at our table shortly after we settled in and took our drink orders. My wife had the specialty drink Cranberry Rita $9.50) while I just wanted a soft drink as I was driving. She liked her drink very much telling me it was delicious. I ordered the regular size 'Prime Rib ' $24.99) which was plenty for me, but they do offer King Cut for $27.99. It came...

I 've been to Ladd 's a few times now and I 'm going to make specific comments on what I 've ordered and tried. On the whole: great food! Great value! Don 't expect fancy. I have gone home with leftovers from the Cajun chicken appetiser I ordered it is huge, filled, and tasty. The appetiser of bacon wrapped scallops was generous, and came over a bed or rice pilaf actually a meal. My husband had onion soup very good. On another visit, my son had the pastrami sandwich with onion rings, delish, and I got the prime rib dish with mushroom gravy and roast potatoes VERY good, and an excellent value! I should point out that all Ladd 's entrees come with soup or side salad, which is rare these days,...
