"Perhaps I should know better than to visit a restaurant for the first time on restaurant week, but Maiz64 came with good references. The place was already hopping when we arrived for our 6:15 reservation, and we were asked to wait for an our table. We were seated later at a table that had been vacant since we had arrived. All in all I felt for the price I would have expected a more professional service and better more unique food. We had to ask for the restaurant week menu, we were only given the full menu, though in the end we were allowed to order from either. When the starters came it was clear why restaurant week is cheaper, because the tuna ceviche on the RW menu was half the size as t...

eating was not taught and we ended with all our eating at the same time. because we had not made enough progress on the appetizers, our nets were eating around and we took most of them home. I have a feeling that eating would have tasted much better not cold and from it was better spaced apart. surprising that a restaurant with pretty good service has not found out.

I come from mecuci and I know mexucan cuisine, I was in one of the best Mexican restaurants cosme, chef owner, enrique olvera. but maiz 64 can compete with him. the dishes bring the authentic aromen and techniques of the old Mexican cuisine. each dish is a firm to its palate from a simple tortilla to the succulent dish from the menu, they will enjoy and nothing could be disappointing or mediocre. the drinks are wonderful. I don't drink much, but I tried three different cocktails and it was difficult not to ask for a fourth. thanks cesare and victor that I bring this excellent chef to dc, I can hardly wait to go back and I could spend a afternoon to appreciate the creations of her artist/chef...

"incredibly disappointed! first we have this restaurant for a birthday dinner on other options based on their menu, but once we were there, the menu was not what they have on their website. specific entrees that drag us to aragosta were not at all in the menu. I know the website state menu items can change, they will react with the nationwide lack of products it is difficult to get deliveries, but seriously if their printed menus are up to date their online menu should also be because guess what? there is no printing involved! the height of the wee that was available, again, weeping on the online menu were not on the printed weeping list, mediocre was best still the brandup was extreme. Thirdly, the time we waited for our food was unacceptable and when it arrived, it was cooked cold. the cabernet sauce with the chateabriand tasted no different than a glass shop bought brown engraving the duck, ordered medium rare, but served almost medium-heavy cold. the filet mignon was boiled on request, but hardly warm the Bernaise sauce tasted just like the packed powder mixture that it received in food business. nothing special or unique. next missing the service. our server apologised for the time it needed to get our wein later our meal times, and said that one of their server had to leave unexpectedly due to disease, but there were other support so that our water should have been refilled several times, but we had to ask for fillings they would help supply food before it became cold. all dinge considered the price we paid over $200 was not worth what we have the over 4 star rating is unnoticed. because we were not the only two in our party, we decided not to express our disappointment complaint at that time."
