"So while I waited for my bag to be repaired by D'Alex tailors I went to La Marketa on Delancey and Essex. I was looking for lunch when I found my dessert. What a pleasant surprise to find vegan chocolate pudding. It was supposed to have caramelized orange but they ran out so they offered me the option of mixed berries chocolate and berries one of my favorite combos). The chocolate was rich, pudding texture was perfect and the berries were a delight. I will return and if this pudding is an example of the culinary talent I can't wait."

What a very pleasant surprise! I had the vegetarian lasagna and Pilar (the owner) gave me a thumb print cookie as a gift. The lasagna was perfectly balanced, delicate and delicious, I was not expecting this surprise!

These people are just really lovely. My favorite dishes are both lasagnas and the eggplant parmigiana. Had a sandwich once too and it was very good. Good bread, which is rare. The taste of the lasagnas reminds me of a pasta Al uovo in Rome.. and/ or casual but delicious food that you’d find in a city market during lunch time. They hook it up with free cookies and generous portions most of the time.
