"We stayed in 5 star hotels that cost $500 per night and they did not compare to this place. The Putnam Lodge is by far the best place we have ever stayed. We were just a walk at 9:30 a.m. the night when we were greeted in us, we asked for a room and continued to check. I asked about the restaurant that she said they were closed at 9 but we could get a bite to eat as they would be happier to take care of all of us was so nice and friendly we asked what would be easy for them to prepare as they were now closed and they said everything you want in the menu is okay. Nice hotel with lots of charm? how people work there. It's nice to hear you tell the story of the hotel. She stayed a night leading to our next destination. Also enjoyed the great food!

Beautiful old building, friendly and personal service and excellent food; enjoyed guineas and chickens during the walk around the quiet garden. Definitely recommend it for a quiet escape.
