"Just what I was read for. Basic good food and good family atmosphere. The staff were helpful but not overbearing. They tolerated my basic German then smiled and answered in English. The menus was extensive. I went back to basics of Schnitzel with potatoes and...salad. It was good. I just forgot the salad included beats, corn and beans but they chuckled with the ohne dressing. There is a single dressing which is mayonnaise based. They even brought me ketchup for my potatoes. It was a large serving-too much for dessert which I missed. If you need a place to eat it spend the night. I highly recommend it. The family takes pride in the facility"

I have written a bit for the restaurant in my hotel review. Excellent place for dinner. Need to make reservation as I was quite full. Had the onion soup as a starter and the cod fish fillet as main. Both were magnificent.

We stayed in town on a Sunday night and it was the only place open. My wife and I decided to try the Haldern platter It said it was for two or more, but when we saw the platter is was more like for four...or five people. The steak was very tender, my wife loved the mushrooms and was happy to see vegetables at a German restaurant. The platter was just euros which we thought was very reasonable.

We did not stay in the hotel so I am going to tick the not sure and very good boxes but did have a superb meal in the restaurant with relatives. The restaurant was clean, well served and very busy. Good cold draught beer along...with some lovely wine. Service was good and the staff were very pleasant. Food was hot, tasty and there was a fair bit of it. Cost was around euros per couple. I would definitely eat here again when we next visit.
