"Quick service. Run by friendly student workers. Place was clean and so was the bathrooms. The bagels were toasted crispy on the outside and pillowy inside. The flavor combinations were great! I really enjoyed the Philly roll which is sushi inspired with lox and wasabi+soy sauce. I felt the wasabi balanced the cream cheese. The scallions also added a nice texture. Don't ask why we put it in a blueberry bagel. It didn't effect the flavor overall though, just added a fun color. The Loxsmith was what I expected, classic and simple. I enjoyed the tomatoes inside too. The bagels are cut in half and it's easy to eat on the go. I'm usually very messy and I was able to munch as I explored UPenn camp...

The ambiance in this restaurant gives me the shivers. As I pull on the 40 pound door to enter, I am greeted by everyone in the building staring at me for 5 seconds. Maybe it was the wind, maybe it was nuance of my 4D fit, but I went to order. She spun the iPad around and I hit skip faster than Husain bolt. I get my bagel. It's good.

I hate to be this person but this is the second time in a row I’ve gone to get a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich and I’ve opened it and all the bacon is raw. Good bagels, and nothing else to complain about honestly, just probably need to find a better way to cook the bacon, even after I asked for it cooked crispy because of the first time…

amazing bagels and great people that work there. That being said, I've been getting schmear it since they opened and there's been a definite decline- there's been barely any cream cheese on the bagels the last 5-10 times. I know they sell out, but now that Kismet opened at the market, I've been going to schmear it less due to lack of cream cheese. I don't mind paying $6.50 for a bagel w cream cheese, but there should be cream cheese on it... it's a shame

"We were there celebrating two birthdays. Our server Faith was wonderful. She was attentive without being intrusive and knowledgeable about the menu. We were a table of 6 and ordered quite a bit of food, some of which was great and others lackluster. The bao buns were great and the small calamari salad was huge and those who had it said delicious. The spareribs were good as well as the edamame dumplings, although the way those were served made it hard to fully enjoy. Each dumpling should be on a individual type spoon so you can enjoy the soup part as well as the dumpling. The way they were served in one large bowl with only one spoon made it so the soup part is left at the bottom. I did request extra spoons from the expediter but they never came. The worst part of our appetizer course was somehow an item was switched to another in the computer and served to us. It had shellfish in it and that wasn’t known when someone at our table who doesn’t eat shellfish ate it. The sashimi was good but the tuna tartare thing was really bad. The entrees we had were the duck, which I was told was delicious, the miso cod, which was fishy, the whole fish which was tasteless, the lobster fried rice, which was okay but lacking flavor. The best dish was the black pepper beef, it was delicious and elegantly served. We had all the sides and all were quite good especially the eggplant and the wasabi mashed potatoes. It was a nice evening but it felt a little stale for a Starr restaurant."
