"I stayed at the Kuchlbauer hotel for a few nights whilst on business and I was given a newly renovated room on the top floor, facing the town square. I 've been to Abensberg many times in the past, but this was the first time at the Kuchlbauer. It was also the last time... The room was lovely and spacious, bathroom was fantastic, however there were no curtains, only part blinds on the bottom halves of the windows, which seemed a bit odd. The temperature was stifling, and the temperature setting on the wall offered no respite. I enquired if there was air con, or even a fan. The reply was a flat 'no '. You should also be aware that there is a nightclub next door, and whilst you don 't hear noise from the nightclub itself, the people queueing to get in, and/or go out for a smoke, or waiting for a cab, is ever present until 4 5am... At night there are floodlights on the hotel front, so with the lack of curtains your room is never dark... This was all experienced during the first night of my stay, and I enquired at reception if they could please help. The response was a flat 'no '. Basically the lady at reception couldn 't care less if I had no sleep. They have clearly heard all of this before, because when I raised the issue of noise I was not only cut off before I could finish, but was told that this is a city issue, and not their problem. When I raised the issue about the hot room, I was told to open the windows, which yes you 've guessed it is when the noise goes up to 11. I also enquired if there was a sheet or something that could be done about the lack of curtains. The answer was a flat 'no '. So I think you are starting to get the picture of what you are dealing with here. I even spoke to the owner after the second night and nice though that he was, there was nothing he could or would do. I 'm not quite sure which. They are very clearly used to these complaints so it is staggering that they haven 't addressed them. The hotel itself is lovely, the rooms are lovely, the food is great, but the staff well the less said about some of them the better. Definitely not service minded, let alone in dealing with members of the public. Rude and unhelpful."

"I almost forgot one, which still belongs to our previous short trip We were back on the way home and stopped in Abensberg. We were looking for a shaded beer garden. On the edge is the Greek restaurant and a sign with beer garden reads us to choose it. Through the courtyard, where there are some private parking spaces, you can get to the beer garden from outside. The toilets in the interior are also without steps. The inner area is reached at the entrance by a few steps. Service welcome there was none, we were somehow not taken. So we looked for a place ourselves. The funny thing is, regular guests were warmly welcomed and they were offered a place. After some waiting time, a gentleman came to us in everyday clothes, handed us the cards, put a jug with cutlery to the table and asked our drinks. The drinks came quickly and two Ouzo were put to the table and he said – please beautiful. The food order was received with one – thank you very much. So now we could see how the regular guests of the salad were served. Great riddles with us, we also get a salad or we have read something. No, we didn't, the salad was with us not only with us but also with other guests who apparently were not regular guests. served with the main dishes. They were put to the table with the announcement from the court and he was gone. That's how the regulars were back. They were courted, they were asked if everything fits and is okay. We all went out empty. After then the empty plates raised an interest – or they had nothing to do right now – he said while clearing – fit. The empty glasses were noticed and the fun bird came through. He said - I can do something to them. Thanks no, please pay. The Bon reached us quickly, there was still a thank you and the service was to end. Somehow, you'll get evened when you get the difference in the service. This was also a theme with guests who took place at the side table a little later. They sat and sat, waited for the menu or something and had to watch as the following guests – uh regular guests – were courted. We can't find that, or the regulars are enough for them, and they don't want to win a new one. 1.5 stars. Food The menu consists of assembled plastic cases with an image and the data from the local on it. She looks a little bit taken. There are the usual Greek dishes in a very large selection. Who does not like this can also order Schnitzel or Cordon bleu with Pommes. We had two alcohol-free wheat for 3,30 € each, Gyros baked in pikanter sauce paprika, onions, champignons baked with edam cheese, rice and salad for 14,30 € and Gyros and Kalamari with rice Zaziki and salad for 14,80 € The salad consisted of herb salad with a peperonie, olive, tomato sauce, two gurkies. Right after fresh herb salad he didn't seem to us, slightly soft and not exactly tasteful. The rest was nature decoration. The olive well with core and not the very cheap, the peperoni of the very mild variety and while eating it, the one-mach water splashes out. Gyros Kalamari – The rice has already been described, but here it was a bit cold. The Kalamari were super-cooked, slightly crispy, not tough and the pastry beautifully present. From seasoning it was also suitable for us after some lemon has been bought over it. The Gyros was juicy and also had crispy pieces with it. Tasteful, yes it tasted to write to meat- stupid, is also meat-. But also meat can be seasoned to bring pure taste. The onions were slightly thicker cut into rings. The Zaziki was something very firm of consistency, the creamy lacked us. Garlic was perfectly represented and a few cucumber strips were joined together. It was from the taste. Gyros baked - it was called rice - but it was already in the bowl and on the ground powerfully laid through the baked or the very hot bowl. Tastefully he was not bad, cooked to the point, a light tomato note, refined with peas and some herbs. He wouldn't taste bad if we hadn't felt such an artificial aftertaste at dinner. The gyro was already described and was no longer so crispy here by the sauce, but you know that if it is baked. So piquant sauce, what's really picant. For us spicy, strong in taste and perhaps also a slight sharpness with it. That was all wrong here. She tasted more like a paprika sauce. We couldn't find paprika slices in the sauce, onions were present and mushrooms, if we didn't count, we could find 4 slices. We will not be regular guests, but it does not have to do with the service. Oh, yeah, what we noticed. The regular guests have accessed the salt and pepper shakers immediately after delivery. 2 star ambience From the parking lot it looks really idyllic, you get through a green arc into a beer garden covered with trees. There are rattan chairs in a dark version, there are red seat cushions with on it and the back area iat shaded with a large awning. There are some pots with plants in between. To this extent it would be quite nice but – the tablecloths are already a bit attacked and wear fire holes, the glass with tealight and sand also deserves no decoration price. The ice card is in a stand with the table number. The salt and pepper shakers are old scool. In addition, there is an ashtray at the table and a glass jug with cutlery and simple thin napkins. It is quiet, green and as far as it fits, 3.5 stars cleanliness The tablecloths carry traces of predecessors. The decorative elements are not the hit as well as the menu films. In the toilets the usual dust traces. 3 stars"

"I remember when I first. Once at the restaurant An der Abens. At that time, we thought my husband and I were not going to come back. Well, but since it was the only pizzeria in the city at that time, we were once again stranded there and were very surprised how good it was! Meanwhile we are regular guests and appreciate the good food. On 15.08. our last visit was before the upcoming renovation. It didn't look down at the time or dirty at all, on the contrary. But the owners are obviously of the view that a change must come from. I very much hope that the open wood stove will remain, which one has a good eye on from most of the seats and is allowed to watch father and son at the pizza shop. The rooms were kept in warm, pleasant colours until then. But on that day we ate in the beer garden due to the wonderfully warm weather, which lies directly on the river of Abens and is kept largely shaded by beautiful mourning pastures. On the opposite side is the castle wall, which still underlines the beautiful ambience. The road in front of it does not like to say to everyone, as the engine noise of the passing companions is only slightly damped. For this you can often see old cars and motorcycles passing on weekends. Pizzaria is a family business. Although some waitresses are additional assistants, as the comparatively high number of guests for the family alone can no longer be copied, the hard core consists of the Turkish family Akbulut. They are all very friendly and accommodating and if there is little to do in an afternoon in the wood stove, the boss can also go well in beer garden. We had never had to wait for the food for a long time and none of the nice services was too bad for a friendly smile. An Italian pizzaria from the Turks with Bavarian cosiness led to the full satisfaction of the guests. This is effectively called multicultural! As mentioned in the introduction, food is now excellent. The ingredients are fresh and the food is very tasty. There was an incident some time ago, as when picking up the supplement salad was placed on the lid of the hot noodles, but after a criticism that was very well received, this has no longer happened and we are still happy to see guests. There's nothing to complain about cleanliness. Of course, this pizzeria is not a Nobel restaurant. But very cozy, with a beautiful ambience, friendly services and delicious food. Cosiness but please don't sit slowly!"
