"One night stay in Savannah so was looking for a spot for breakfast before hitting the road. I came across The Funky Brunch Cafe so decided to check it out. I got there just before 9am and it was still pretty empty. The hostess was seating the couple in front of me and saw I was alone and just said you go sit at the bar. I followed them in and asked if that was my only option. She asked what? And I asked if solos had to sit at the bar. There were only about 4 tables with people at them so it wasn't like they were hurting for tables; another lady overheard and said he can have a table. Stopped in for a quick brunch and received excellent customer service. The place is very colorful , bright and unique. Cute umbrellas lol The food was OK. Not bad but not great either. Ok. Price is definitely good for Historic District

The ambiance is the only reason they have a star from me and the fact that without a star there would be no review. The service was mediocre, if she was attentive she would 've known that I didn 't like any of my food. I literally took a small bite of everything and pushed it away. She walked over and said, you need anything else? I looked at her and didn 't say anything, but my friend did and she walked away thinking everything was okay. The grits flavorless. "This is an outstanding place for a well prepared dinner with a friendly, upbeat vibe and attractive setting. We have been several times and will continue to go. This time we took friends/professional partners from Atlanta who have the world over and spend good deal of time enjoying great food from an international perspective. They were both outspoken in their compliments foe Current. There are many options for libations to accompany good food. "This night had the perfect potential to be amazing- it wasn?t busy, a great band was playing, football was on all the right TVs, etc. but the service was very poor. We all felt unwanted the second we we got there the host scoffed when we said we had 10 people even though we said we would be fine waiting, even though it wasn?t busy). Only 6 of us ended up showing up and eating, and we majorly lacked in attentiveness all night. At one point our glasses had been empty for 30 minutes and we were looking around for a check while all the servers were sitting in a booth and we had to go get them. If the attentiveness had been up to par we would?ve easily ordered more drinks easy money). The checks had added gratuity we were not notified about when only 6 of us showed up, just overall poor experience, wish we could?ve stayed longer :"

"This place has a lot of reviews, but I felt the need to add another great review! I myself and two buddies arrived right in front of the rush 6pm. Our server, Maddison, was fantastic. She had excellent recommendations, fast with all our foods, and even when the place was packed, not forget about us. I had the brisket plate with two bones, Brunswick stew (big side) and the beans (especially good) along with the Okra starter. The bride was juicy, smokey and tasty. Bands were also pretty good! One buddy had the 1lb of the brisket plate and the other had added the brisket plate with several wings. Both said their plates were excellent and it was shown how they killed them before I came to my ribs! The atmosphere was great for a home feeling and the staff helped each other when things were busy to keep all tables happy."

"I went to J Thomas when it first opened and it was really good, I went a second time 2 years ago and it kept its reputation. When I went again present day, it had significantly declined in both food presentation, service and quality. I wake pooking. Forward to there Mac n cheese which years ago was served in a gratin dish with Al denote noodles, cheesey filling and nice brown bubbly top. Today the Mac n cheese was served in a mushy scoop on the plate like a cafeteria would. I was so taken aback and surprised! Plus the plating on the fried green tomatoes had changed and was not as fantastic as they used to be. Mush in fact and overly smothered in the bacon jam where 2 years ago, they were the best damn fried green tomatoes Savannah raised girl ever had! So disappointed with my third visit. I will not return to dine in, but may consider them if I ever need a caterer."

"Love Super Tastes! I’m a big fan of the sushi boat and the mushroom soup. Lunch bento boxes are a great deal and will leave you full. The staff is always attentive and kind. You’ll always get plenty of food at a great price. They also recently got these cute durable totes for carry out orders- kept everything hot and tidy in the car on the way home!"
