"I 'm so conflicted. My bf took me here for birthday dinner last year and it was one of the greatest steaks I 've ever had in my life. Today for brunch was overpriced, sub-par, and exceptionally rude service from our main server. My pastrami sandwich was fine, but the pastrami should have been the star and instead it was drowned out by the cheese, slaw, egg and dressing, and the egg was way overcooked. The fried pickles were good, but overkill with the potato salad that had a pickly taste to it already. And btw, the potato salad was good, but I 've had much better. For $24, I expected more from this dish. The duck egg burger was just alright, nothing special, including the fries, but the bes...

Make sure you get dressed up for this place! A very nice place! When i first arrived the service was a tad bit slow, because we had multiple servers but they quickly recovered by giving us free wine. The food was very very very good! My stake was cooked perfectly and my appetizer (which was mozzarella with peaches) was extremely good! I ten/ten recommend this place. after your dinner, you can walk down to the Potomac river which is so peaceful. (it's about a 3 min walk)

I started with the pea and celtuce soup. The waiter said it was popular and very good. And he was right. It was thick but not too thick and a beautiful vibrant green color. I felt healthier after eating it! Then I had the half Amish chicken. I think that chicken was on steroids because I got three meals out of it between that night and leftovers- lol! It was so tasty. The mushrooms and other flavoring complimented it perfectly. I tasted the burrata and halibut and they were both just as delicious. The atmosphere was formal with white cloth tablecloths. We were there freakishly early because we had tickets to a Kennedy Center performance afterward. They were respectful of our time. I would hi...

The Grill Room is an upscale hotel restaurant. The food is pricey, but you can expect that from hotel dining (especially the Capella hotel group). Chef Frank Ruta is doing an amazing job with the menus. Our server Lester made this one of the best experiences for Sunday brunch. He had a great personality and went out of his way to accommodate our group of 3. We were seated on the patio overlooking the C O Canal. Grill room salad $13: They were nice enough to split the salad into two portions for us. The shaved beets and radish were excellent. Salmon poached egg $22: Small portion, but perfectly cooked and tasty Grill Room Burger: TRUFFLE CHEESE. That's all you need to know in life. Lemon Made...
