"We stayed at the Inn on site and ate here for dinner one evening. The service is excellent. The drink list is extensive and you'll find a wine or beer you love. The pizza was very well done. There are two vegan options and they are accommodating. I also appreciated how spaced out the tables were considering the safety issues still of concern. If you're in the Woodstock area, definitely make it to Ransom Tavern!"

The restaurant is basically a pizza parlor plus. Pizza was very good. A handful of shareable appetizers and some very nice salads. Decent wine list; however, very overpriced. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

I absolutely love eating in ransom tavern when I visit the city for one! the Neapolitan pizza is super. this is my favorite way to enjoy pizza, so I am always on the hunt for some. The Butternus Square is divine, and the meatballs ricotta are delicious! the wine list is fantastic and there are local beers to the design. very recommended place right in front of the city of woodstock!

This place is truly a hidden gem. Staff were friendly and following on marking my experience is perfect. I had the Greek Salad and the Gardener Pizza. The wooden pizza tasted delicious and perfect. The salad was decent too. The outside seating at the porch was comfy even on a cold rainy day. Very historic place dated to 1828!Would definitely recommend this place.Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time.

"During our mini-vacation in Vermont last summer, we visited this spot, highly recommended by relatives. A reservation is required, and they are SUPER popular. So, make sure to book a reservation 2-3 weeks in advance. Since we made our reservation late (which was still 2 weeks in advance! , and we were lucky enough to get their last reservation available, at the bar counter. The bar was really beautiful, made with an antique wooden bar. We started off with “Made in Vermont” cocktail section of the drink menu, and ordered Not-So- French Martini, and Maple-tini. Our bartender/server for the evening, Tracey, made our drinks and gave us the excess in small shakers. It had enough for a second glass! Thank you! The drinks were strong and flavorful, really nice! We did Prix Fixe Menu. For the first course, we chose House Smoked Salmon and Count Neck Clams, both simply delicious. What an amazing start! Second course was a House Salad, super fresh and tasty. For the third course, we had Oven Roasted Atlantic Cod, and Carré d’Agneau Royale. AMAZING. They were both packed with flavor, fireworks going on in my mouth good. Everything was so great, we couldn't just end there. So, we ordered Vienna Coffee with Irish Whiskey with some dessert. We sure how how to live! We ordered Vermont Cheesecake and Pistachio Milk Chocolate Dacquoise. The cheesecake is to die for. Oh. My. Goodness! Needless to say, we had a wonderful time here. Everything we had was great, from the first drink to the last bite. Tracey took a great care of us the entire night, we feel like we had more fun sitting at the bar instead of at a table. This was the best dining experience we had in Vermont, and we will be sure to return for more the next time we visit Vermont!"
