"Back Nine Tavern is located at the Southington Country Club next to a scenic golf course. There is a main bar room and a good sized meeting room with its own small bar. A nice array of food was brought out from the kitchen for a gathering of around sixtyheld here mid-April. Dishes included bruschetta, chicken wings, stuffed mushrooms, mini-meatballs, jalapeno poppers and coconutshrimp. The bruschetta was better than most since the grilled baguette slices were seasoned. The stuffed mushrooms were largewith a flavorful sausage stuffing and the fried jalapeno poppers had the right balance of heat with melted cheese in each bite.A nice sized shrimp was used for the coconut shrimp and they weren...

The food look like it was a week old! My tomato looked like it was sitting in a container for a week, and the lettuce was completely wilted! Gross ???? It was a Thursday? night maybe they get fresh food on Friday?

Their signature cocktail the patron margarita was super off. It was definitely not made with patron I could barely drink it, it was made with either well tequila or don julio, why advertise it patron if your using bottom shelf. The nachos were nasty, weasked for no sausage they still came out with sausage I can?t consume pork. Then we order our entrees. The chicken is TERRIBLE,they don?t use any seasoning and it had a weird off taste definitely not fresh meat The best part of our meal was our sweetpotatoe fries. On the other hand our server was fantastic, very attentive and sweet. To be clear this was a food issue not aservice issue

9/1/22 The Back Nine Tavern offered beautiful outdoor dining overlooking the course on this fantastic late summer afternoon with my dear friends Dave and Patti N. I started with a cup of chili that was pretty good (glad I ordered a cup, the bowl would'vebeen too much with the burger) but was easily upstaged by the bacon, cheddar cheeseburger that came after. Pat had a chef saladwith grilled steak that surprised us all with the size of sliced steak the salad was topped with. She declared it very good andenough for at least one more meal....maybe two. Dave opted for a combo turkey/corned beef Reuben that looked the size of two. Hesaid it was really good. We all agreed that it was a better than...

"Firstly, I find it odd that this place has been open for a few years now and only has 112 reviews. I honestly think it’s because the owners are very nice people probably just don’t WANT to leave a bad review.I’m leaving one because I’m annoyed I spent my hard earned money here, and I’ll explain why.1) They don’t cook everything fresh. The “vegetable dumplings” are actually potstickers bought from BJs. Bibigo vegetable organic potstickers. I could tell they were frozen. They were also over cooked and burnt. I begrudgingly ate (most of) them anyway, having not eaten all day and having waited a looong time for them already.2) The edamame were undercooked and no seasoning. They could have done with another 1 2 minutes. And salt and garlic.. something… Edamame is not difficult to cook. By now I already did not have much hope for the mains, but was too late to leave as we had pre ordered the mains with the appetizers.3) The fried rice entree was full of oil. Soooo much oil. See the glistening photos. No seasoning either. I don’t think even any salt. The additional $3 charge for shrimp consisted of 2 over boiled shrimp. Disgusting.4) The food took extremely long to come to the table. We were there for almost 2 hours for appetizers and the main. To be served store bought food AND the place being dead (see empty tables) I find this unacceptable.5) The boba isn’t made fresh. Also Bubblegum flavor was advertised as blueberry. For the first time, my kid did not want to drink boba tea.My Thai curry was pretty good and flavorful, but I asked for Level 3 5 spice and it was more of a 5. Being Asian myself, I’m very accustomed to spicy food so luckily I was fine to eat it. Also was sparse on the shrimp, i counted 5 shrimps. The white rice was nice, but no one eats out for just plain white rice. It was not worth anything near what they charge. This is the first time EVER that not only I have not enjoyed Thai food, but been repulsed. We sent the oily rice back and had to ask them to remove it from the bill, as they kept it on. I would never come back here nor support businesses who buy in pre packaged ready made food to sell on for a premium price. The lady owner IS very nice and kind. Unfortunately you need more than a nice personality to be a good cook. Although, if she was not so nice, I would leave a 1 star. I don’t find it right that they are charging people for this... I don’t write this to put them out of business, but for them to up their game!!"
