"The lobster roll was $35 on a hot dog roll, without even a hint of Cheaspeake Bay Seasoning, or any spices, not any mayo, no lettuce leaf or slice of tomato, celery piece, not even a pickle, just a glob of hard French fries. Lobster bisque had 3 tiny pieces of lobster meat. The small dish of mac&cheese was reminiscent of Velveeta instant from years ago. Homemade lemonade was good. The Pandora 80s radio station was loud. Danielle our server was very nice. The inside has a/c but the doors are wide open with flies buzzing in. Close to $108 for a major disappointment."

When we arrived, we were informed that we would be seated outside, despite the nice and completely empty indoor dining room. We were placed at a picnic table with no lighting. We had to request empty glasses and use our phones with their flashlight modes just to see our food. To make matters worse, it was the evening during a heat wave, with temperatures around 85 degrees and a very humid atmosphere, yet there were no fans to provide any relief.

"If it's February at East End of Long Island, the restaurant is not on Main Street, and you still have problems finding a parking lot, you know before you get in the door something good is going in here! And at Bell Anchor everything is food, service and ambience! Open about eight years; this is really a jewel sitting along Noyack Road with access to the bay and view. We started our enjoyable experience by ordering the Hone Port Chowder and dozens of Montauk Pearl Oysters for a dollar of any special. Your Chowder really belongs to the best I enjoyed creamy, briny, tasteful and velvety. Bacon adds a subtle smoky hint to the cream. The ro homes were juicy, fresh and served with a well prepared mignonette sauce. Our entrees included the Grilled Flat Iron Steak with sauteed spinach, fries and bearnaise butter and the fish of the day, a tile fish on a bed of Edamame, and seasonal vegetables served in a Chardonnay sauce. The meal was exceptional! Our biggest compliments to the two chefs here!!! And so we just had to try their desserts. Finally we ordered the Dreamy Brownie Sunday and Mandel Cake with Marscapone Cream. Then we drove to our car! In fact, this is a great restaurant to enjoy. Fortunately, they are open all year round and take reservations in high season. So if you have time to explore the eastern end before the commemorative day, put Bell Anchor in your GPS. Spend a wonderful day in Southampton and Sag Harbor, go around Trout Pond and cross the street to this beautiful restaurant. If you are lucky, Anne will be your server and take care of you!"
