"The server was not notified that we were seated even after alerting other wait staff. We only had an hour for lunch and had made reservation. We did not get water or a server until 34 minutes of being seated. They did apologize for the miscommunication but we had a very rushed and stressful lunch. No other staff stopped to ask about us despite walking by several times. We love Hanks and will go back to give another try but this was a pretty disappointing experience."

This was a cute place. It was not very crowded and not very loud. Our appetizers were good. Neither of us loved our frozen drinks. The schnitzel was enormous but fairly greasy. It was almost too thin that would couldn’t taste any meat. My friend enjoyed her crispy rice bowl. The servers were pleasant.

This is a neighborhood place for us, and it rarely disappoints. However, they no longer offer Michelob Ultra, so their only domestic beer is Lone Star. I know Austin loves their breweries, but not all of us can stomach that beer. I hope they revisit their domestic offerings to satisfy a wider range of beer drinkers. Unfortunately, this is a deal breaker for my husband, so Hanks will probably move down the list of the many options we have when going out.
