"We kind of knew the moment we walked in that we were in for a treat. The place was bustling, almost every table was full of happy folk eating, chatting and generally enjoying the place. I was worried that it was a reservations-only kind of place as Jessheim is a small town, but we were greeted and ushered-in in no time. The server seated us with a smile and came with water and provided us with English menus. I usually prefer the local menu (translation is easy with Google! but we had just arrived at the airport and the English menu looked adequately comprehensive. A bit of a debate, but we ended up with 2 dishes to share between 2 very jet-lagged diners. The Monk Fish was fabulous but small...

Place looked luxurious and promising. But food was not the nicest. I’m not a very demanding client. But dry chicken in such a basic dish like Caesar salad…Tiramisu was just one whipped cream show: At least I enjoyed nice wine and the atmosphere. Waiters as well did a good job. They were extremely quick and pleasant.

We stayed at the Quality Inn right down the street and chose the Maribel because it was close by. The food was excellent; we had the elg (moose) and a steak dish with red wine pepper sauce. The portions were perfect whether you're an American like me or Norwegian. Dessert, chocolate mousse with ice cream and strawberries was amazing as well. Only good memories of this place. 12/10 would eat again!

The overall experience food experience was great and not to much to say besides the variety of tasty food. What was holding it back from a five star is the small issues with cleaning and costumer service. It felt a bit childish to drink soda from a wine glass, said one of my guests. Whilst it was a birthday celebration, we were lucky to get a birthday firework with the desert. Last comment is that it does seem a bit overpriced.
