"My husband and I usually come 2 or 3 times a year to Solvang and we never stopped here.so glad we were yesterday. The food was amazing ..I had chicken fried steak(was so good) and my husband had a bacon cheese omelett that was loaded with bacon ..he said best Omelet he had ever. Our server was Riley and her service was perfect. I retired after 45 years as a server, so I know great service when I see it. She was extremely attentive and very sweet. All employees there were very nice and all worked together well. The food came out quickly. We will definitely stop when we are in the area!!"

I really like this place! I only expected a running breakfast restaurant, but was very surprised! Meals are delicious and the servers were very friendly! Pay attention to the walls when you visit from the area because they have some of the detailed maps / history of the local environment on them.

You can say this place was there for a nice time. The decor narrows back into the 70s with a semi-western feeling on it. The waitresses bang together and with the customers, but it's all in good fun. My wife ordered the Green Chili Cheeseburger and I got the Chicken Roma Sandwich. Her cheeseburger was a bit overcooked, but surprisingly juicy. My sandwich was surprisingly better than expected. We ordered the frits and they turned out to be really delicious steak frits.

I've been going to Mother Hubbards for two years. After yesterday's experience, I won't go there anymore. I bought 2 chorizo burritos to go as I had to be in our place. I ate my burrito, and a little more than halfway through him, I have a little hard. I found a big glass and smaller pieces that were in my Burrito. Don't trust this place. Your life can depend on it. They bleed me out and pretended nothing happened when I advise them. They said they looked around and found no broken glass in their kitchen. I've landed through my throat and asaphagus irritation in the emergency room.

"I arrived 10 minutes early for my 1 person reservation and no fewer than 3 service folks walked right past me at the reception desk — not one of them made eye contact with me. Finally one said the hostess would be back soon and I told him he was the fourth person who had walked by and ignored me. The hostess showed me to a table for two tucked into a back corner right in the entrance/exit to the kitchen. Seriously. I could not believe it for a second, I kind of thought maybe I was in some weird parallel universe and someone was behind a two way mirror laughing at me. They actually thought that seating the 55+, grey haired woman who was dining alone at the crappiest table in the place would be okay. Wow. At first, I put my coat on the back of the second chair and got ready to sit dutifully in the seat which every service person would pass by for the time I would be there. Then I decided not to. I interrupted (politely) the server who was at the next table of 5 and said “I need to be reseated. I can’t sit here.” To her credit, she was very polite and accommodated me. I told her I felt invisible, upset, and completely marginalized. Like seriously what kind of a restaurant does this?! I said that as a woman travelling on her own, being seated at the worst table in the restaurant was more than a little insulting especially when there were many other free two top tables, and seats at the bar too. I was re seated, and then ordered an $80 bottle of wine and some food. The food was average, the wine excellent. My server was great. I would recommend Hitching Post II, but with the obvious caveat that you make sure you don’t get the crappy table — and if you do, make them move you! Miles would have!"
