"Popped into the Pigeonhole for breakfast this morning, not expecting much given it was on 17th Avenue SW, but left impressed, satisfied and looking forward to heading back. I opted for Victoria's full breakfast $20 Homemade onsite sausage patty GF, Bacon, Homemade onsite...bread (toast), two eggs and homemade onsite hasbrowns and some greens....excellent taste and smells.......hot and looked very appetising. Really good value and i have to say, BEST BREAKFAST EVER!! Oh and they do GF bread that actually tastes like bread!! Sharing plates. We had Cauliflower, bean salad, lamb, pork belly, beef tartare, cheese puffs, dumplings, shrimp, and all three desserts. No misses. Impressive flavors. Great service. “Mmmmmmms” all around our table of four. Definitely a repeater!

This is a sharing restaurant; you order small portions a la carte with no sides. The roasted cauliflower was overpowered by the bitter spice rub. The ricotta dumplings were pleasant in themselves, albeit a tad under salted. However the tangy mayonnaise they came with was...unpleasant at best. The lamb was very oily and could have been good except the chef seemed to have spilled the allspice onto it sad really. The strawberry dessert was fantastic, but could have done without the rhubarb. The chocolate mousse had a little chocolate, but was basically a vehicle for a strong, oily peanut sauce. Service was poor.

We booked this after reading the reviews on trip advisor. Yes the music is reasonably loud but we could have a conversation comfortably. The menu is small but we loved the food. The burnt cabbage was great, the steak amazing and we loved the chicken...schnitzel. My teenagers love most things but they surprisingly didn’t like the tomato and mozzarella as they found it too acidic (green tomatoes) but other than that they loved everything else. The chocolate mousse was a little strange but my partner loved it but the Madeleines were freshly baked, hot and totally delicious. Service was polite, friendly and helpful and made our evening. Would definitely recommend.
