"My wife told me about the steam brewery in advance. A colleague of her was recently there and in the last week of November has reserved a table for January and one for February in the steam brewery, the place is known that it is often full. Also in my online search I stumbled over the brewery that offers a so-called cheap lunch table for 6.90 under the week and weekend. Also, as a possible visit, I chose on Wednesday, after the homepage is Wednesdays the trade fair beer day, the measure for 5,90. As a coincidence, we went on last Wednesday from the Oberstdorfer P2 parking lot, shortly after 12 o'clock in the direction of Oberstdorfer Bahnhof, a stone's throw lying the steam brewery. We had not reserved, we were offered a table outdoors (there was a lot to go) and inside (also a lot to go). We moved into a table. From our place we had a wonderful view over the place and could consider driving. Oberstdorf is beautiful. The municipality is the southernmost in Germany. In 1992 the local centre for road transport was blocked. By car arrivals about 1,000 parking spaces can be used at the entrance of the village and by bus to the centre. A pedestrian zone consists of large parts of the village centre, the remaining areas are mostly traffic-smooth. The steam brewery therefore has a very good starting position, almost directly at the station. We study the map and see here, today is Massbiertag, every measure 5,90. I ask the very friendly waiter whether this also applies to yeast wheat, yeast bright and dark. It applies. Fantastic, with me it should be a normal yeast wheat, that was then very dark, but it tasted very good. My wife decides for the Pepsi Light. The 1.2 kilo of witch is served at our table neighbour, which is a serving. We swallow. I had to swallow quickly, the measure was lazy after half, tasteful, but okay. My wife decides for the cheese biscuits mixed with spicy mountain cheese with salad, I for the offered lunch table. According to the map, boss Walter Bauer and his team are preparing a wide range of dishes for guests with love and care. The richness of the offer includes Allgäuer specialties, as well as Swabian delicacies, along with hand-made Bavarian classics and for those who deliberately want to eat light slums and vital food. The kitchen places great emphasis on quality and freshness in all dishes. Regional products from domestic agriculture and from the Allgäu wild stock are processed. That alone, of course, brings the bar a little higher, so we were excited. The specialties of the house are: the Allgäuer Käspatzen, the Bavarian Krustenbraten and the traditional Schweinshaxe. To the homemade cheeses is served in advance a side salad that was beautifully dressed, but mostly consisted of cheap yellow leaf salad (iceberg), but it was tasteful, thanks to the dressage, okay. The then rich cheese puffs of the original Allgäuer type could almost be served in Munich. The cheese was very spicy, almost a zig too strange, for the delicate taste of my better half. I've already eaten your comment on the cheese parrots, but it was tastefully fine. I had the lunch table Allgäuer Leberkäs Cordon Blue. The liver cheese was very crispy, which was very good. Filled with simple cooking ham and cold cut cheese. The added potato cucumber salad was pleasant to eat. Due to the acid of vinegar, this is well suited together with the strong liver cheese. The part was absolutely sufficient, even if I was hungry an hour later. Along with the very spicy (and unfortunately also very powerful) cheeses I come to 3 stars at dinner. The service was very good at our visit, so I come to an overall rating of 3.5 stars. Conclusion: With the description of food on the homepage and on the map you want to play a league higher. Food is too easy, especially if salads lack the right products from agriculture. Recommended only the offered table for 6.90"
