"Shalimar is an excellent restaurant. I'm 29 now, and know I've been going here at least 15 years. Probably longer, depending on how long they've been open . Absolutely always had a delicious meal. Can recommend chicken, shrimp, or lamb curry, lamb kebabs, garlic naan, and much more. I try to bring my friends here once in awhile if they're capable of handling spice and are open to trying different foods. Anyone I've ever brought here loves it, including my fiance. I just need to remember to come out here more often."

The service was stellar; the owner, server, and food runners worked diligently and were very friendly. The food was amazing, and it came out hot and correct. They made sure to double check with us about the heat level and it was perfeclty spiced. 10/10 would recommend.

Great food. Tandoori could use more seasoning though. Chili chicken and gobi manchurian was great though. Food is served very quick. So not sure how fresh it actually is. The chicken didn’t taste stale though so overall a pretty good meal. Family style. Would highly recommend it if you’re looking for Indian food in Louisville

Best Indian food in town, been eating there for 15 years and never disappoints, used to love the lunch buffet because it gave me a chance to try a bunch of new things I would not normally order, unfortunately Covid put an end to that. Staff is amazing and always friendly and helpful, basically treat you like family. I always recommend Shalimar to my out of town customers looking for something other than the usual burger or pizza joint.

"First let me say the atmosphere is amazing, although a little loud, but in an exciting sort of way, not in a can 't hear your conversation sort of way! Our server, Christian, was amazing! He is absolutely one of the best in the business! He was knowledgable about the menu, the history of the building, bourbon and wine and more! Now on to the food! The crab cake appetizer was the very best we had ever eaten! It was pure crab with just enough bread crumbs on the outside to hold it together! Just big hunks of crab! Yum! We had heard so many times that Repeal had the best steaks in the city so we had to check it out. I am sad to say we do not agree! My filet was overcooked and actually charred on one side even though I ask for it to be medium well (a little pink). My husbands steak was under cooked even though he ask for medium well also. Yes, we could have sent them back, but unless something is inedible, we rarely do. We were just disappointed more than anything, steaks were still very edible and good, just not great! The $20 twice baked potato was not worth $20 even though it did have slices of truffle on top and truffle oil as an ingredient. The Caesar salad was a disappointment! The addition of white anchovies was different but did not elevate the salad in our opinion. The bread pudding was amazing! I highly recommend! Oh, the cocktails were subpar! I know this sounds like a total tear down of Repeal, but it is not! I think we had too high expectations and were just let down by our experience considering the price! So, with all that said, would I go back? Yes! I would but would chose very different menu items than this time. And I would probably skip cocktails and go for wine instead."
